Which 4 players make up the Jets fans Mt. Rushmore of most widely loved and admired former players?  Not the best, but the ones most fans just really like?

  1. Joe Namath
  2. Wayne Chrebet
  3. Joe Klecko
  4. Curtis Martin

Is that the Top 4?

Pretty much.

my only questionable would be Martin if I went by players drafted by the jets.

if I did that I would go walker.

actually typing it out I think I would go walker over martin by the slightest margin

Overall that seems like it may be right, but the BEST player the jets have had isn’t on that list in Revis. His exit and mercenary kind of attitude did lower the fans view of him.

I wasn’t alive for Klecko or Namath so can’t really speak on them.

Martin played almost his entire career here. I think he qualifies. He was basically drafted by the Jets given the trade they made for him.

Feel like the old heads here would fight against Revis being on the Mt Rushmore. I think he’s there. Got to include someone from 2009-10 given that was one of the best teams in Jets history.

You could be right if we're talking the entire population of Jets Fans.

But Namath was before my time, and I don't have any special love for him per se.  SBIII wasn't my SB, wasn't alive when it happened, and it means very little to me generally speaking.  Happy for those that got it, but it's theirs, not mine.

So my list would be different:

1. Chrebet
2. Mangold
3. Toon
4. Martin

I like Klecko plenty, but I loved and will always love Toon.

Again, this is "most beloved", not "best players" which is a different thing.

Not sure what an old head is but the question is loved and admired?

revis is respected but not cracking some of the names others have mentioned under loved and admired

The first 3 are not debatable, although you can quibble on the order.

C-Mart was respected and appreciated, but beloved? Not sure about that.

#4 depends on your age. From the 80s, Walker, Toon and Freeman are in the conversation. Gastineau would be in there if not for how it all ended and that late hit vs Cleveland in the 86 divisional playoff.

Dennis Byrd from 90s because of everything that he did and said after the injury. And then showing up in New England before the divisional playoff 10 years ago. RIP.

Holding out one season, forcing a trade in another and winning a SB w/ NE, have consequences

On a Mount Rushmore of talent, 100% agree. As a beloved Jet, no way does Revis make the top 4 IMO.

Probably, maybe Maynard for the old timers too?  Like, I wasnt around for Namath or Maynard, so neither would be on my list but I'd imagine those old enough would have both.

Mine is the same as this just sub Mangold for Namath.

My honorable mentions would be;

DBrick, Al Toon, Wesley Walker, Bruce Harper, Bilal Powell, Jericho Cotchery, David Harris, Mo Lewis, Marvin Jones (you cant have my wife), Aaron Glenn, Brad Smith.

I would have Revis and Ellis on here but they are traitors.

Dunno what the public Says, but my personal fave not in any particular order. Also... Has a lot to do with the person and not just the player.  That's why Gastineau aint on my list.

Freeman McNeil

Joe Namath

Wesley Walker

Mangold

Mo Lewis

Bart Scott

Jim Leonhard

Sanchez

Brandon Moore

Mickey Schuler

Bruce Harper

Dan Alexander

Coles

Depends on the age of the fan.

Older fans will like Don Maynard more, I personally like Al Toon and Wes Walker more than Wayne.

My first year truly being a fan was '99. I vaguely remember Chrebet but I was too young to really love him, and by the time I really started understanding football, Chrebet was washed. The only real memory I have of him was a critical fumble against the Bears or Bills that ended a playoff push.

My Mount Rushmore in no order:

D'Brick, Mangold, Cotchery, '09-'10 Revis

The question isn't being answered correctly by many.  The question ISN'T what are YOUR favorite four players.  the question is...Which 4 players make up the Jets fans Mt. Rushmore of most widely loved and admired former players?  Whether you were alive or not, Namath without question should be number 1...he's the face of the franchise like it or not.

Then you have absolutely no reason to be a Jets fan then.

Go root for the Commanders or Ravens.  No one will blame you.

This would look an awful lot like my list.  Maybe Wesley Walker instead of Chrebet for me, but its close.  Loved them both, but I probably would give the edge to Walker.

Huh? What are you talking about? Namath is the only reason to be a Jets fan? Lol, no.
