He’s playing for his next contract and doesn’t want Trubitski screwing that up for him. Probably same reason Elijah Moore was so pissed with Zach! https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/lists/pittsburgh-steelers-diontae-johnson-nfl-contract-extension/ August 22, 2022 On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers reached an agreement with wide receiver Diontae Johnsonon a two-year contract extension worth up to $39.5 million with incentives and keeps him on the team through the 2024 season. This is huge for Johnson and the Steelers in an offseason of big contracts. Here are our big takeaways. With the way the wide receiver market has exploded this offseason, getting Johson for what the Steelers paid is shrewd. Johnson got a nice raise for this season but will play below what the franchise tag for the next three seasons which is always a win in this inflated market. Plus, it gives Johnson a chance to early an even bigger deal in the elusive third contract in just three seasons. Johnson made it clear he was fine with doing his hold-in right up until the start of the regular season. This would have not only set him back as a player but would have created a hardship on an offense working in a new starting quarterback. A big reason the Steelers felt no sense of obligation to overpay for Johnson in part because he is still a work in progress at the position. Johnson drops more passes than the NFL counts and they are often the easy ones. Johnson also needs to expand his route tree to be included among the very best at the position. AUG 4 2022Signed a 2 year $36.71 million contract extension with Pittsburgh (PIT)

This wasnt the "Geno" treatment at all. Guy gets punched in the face by some diva receiver because he wasnt getting the ball, then HE gets benched on top of it? How is it that we only hear about this now, and not when it happened? Will the NFL or Steelers suspend this dude? Doubt it. 1

I love how u jump to conclusions that this guy is such an ahole. There is no report as to what was said. For all we know, he could have asked trubisky nicely to give him more opps and Trubisky said, “Eff u. U POS. Not a surprise as Tomlin was and will continue to be vastly overrated. He inherited a fully functioning SB team complete with a FQB and rode it as long as he could until the wheels fell off (the FQB got old). He didn't build anything there. If his first gig was with the Jets he would be out of the league.

playtowinthegame
I'm only guessing here, but for Diontae Johnson to punch his starting QB, Mitchell Trubisky, it was probably over sports gambling. I imagine Diontes family/crew put a lot of money on props bets for him, so naturally Diontae asked Mitch for the ball that week. He didn't get it, his homies lost a lot of money, then he punched Trubisky who told Diontae to go F himself.

Anyone with a first gig with the Jets is likely going to be out of the league.

Please do not share reports from non-credible sites like ML Football, NFL Rumors and such. Flashlite80
Let me get this right. Diontae Johnson punches his quarterback and the quarterback gets benched. Moore expresses frustration that his QB doesn't throw even one pass his way for weeks and he gets benched and frozen out of the offense for weeks to the detriment of the team. Our Jackass OC put him on the field 2 weeks in a row after the benching, and ignored him completely. When an OC sees a top weapon not targeted and doesn't do something, he hurts the team. When he clogs the field, two weeks in a row, with a WR he has no intention of targeting, he gets fired.
Beerfish
90% of Wts are psycho beotches, if it was not a punch it was still some beef. These days it is perfectly fine to go after your Qb as a wr verbally or otherwise and you do not truly get taken to task. In the old days if you did anything to the QB you would have about 4 olienman threatening to take you apart in the locker room or at practice. Not trying to be an as*hole, and your point could definitely be valid, but I doubt it is and that’s only because I inadvertently saw this short piece on Trubisky, maybe it was on the internet, and they said the guy might be the “nicest” guy in the entire league, takes time for charity and lots of other good deeds. I’d lean that the Pittsburgh covered it up.
