Jets LBs under contract

I think they’d absolutely need to reduce Mosley’s salary.  $17M is way too high.  I’d expect a market adjustment down to $10M or else there’s a real potential he gets cut.

Would expect the Jets to prioritize Quincy and also show interest in bringing back Kwon at a raise from last year but no more than $5M per year.

Lastly, a good GM will draft Mosley’s replacement this year (round 2 or 3).

If you have a rare talent at LB who can do everything you pay him and keep him.

If you have a defense that relies heavily on play making lbs you prioritize that position.

If you ask your LBs to essentially do one thing you do NOT prioritize that position.

The Jets essentially ask their LBs to make tackles, the most easily obtained type of player imo.

You can use mid to late round picks or just pick up cheap vets to make tackles.

Out of the top 10 tacklers last year there was a 6th rounder a 7th rounder and two udfas

We got Alexander off the scrap heap, heck Frankie Luvu jets reject had a tremendous year with Carolina.

The Jets should 100% for sure cut Mosely and let Quincy Williams walk if he wants too much.

And no we should NOT restructure mosleys contract, we cannot afford to push cap issues a few years down the road when we have a host of good to great young players that will need to be paid in a few years.

Would it be nice to keep mosley and Williams?  sure but lbs that just make tackles are behind just about every other team resource in importance and replaceability.
