Yeah I do not see that as a big shot at a guy, there are about 3 or 4 QBs in the whole league who can carry a team to some extent.  Even the very very best guys need a lot of help.

Since the very few guys who can carry a team are never available then you look at the next level of QBs.

the Jets play in the AFC east in an outdoors stadium the whole thing is just a bad idea

I don't want to talk ill of my fellow Jets fans but there are alot dudes who bought Zach Wilson ROY tickets 2 years ago.

If we were to sign Carr, then the moment he touches pen to paper he immediately becomes the 2nd best QB in Jets history.

Jets fans have spent the better part of the last 20 years watching the likes of Brooks Bollinger, Kellen Clemens, Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson and Mike White…and then scoff at the dude who averages 4,000 yards, 25 TD’s and 10 INT’s a year…

Carr has been universally considered a Top 10-12 QB for the last 8 years.

If you guys are holding out for the next Patty Mahomes to walk through the doors at Florham Park…then I don’t know what to tell you besides that ain’t happening.

If the Jets can’t land Rodgers, then locking down Carr and keeping all of our draft picks is easily the next best option.

We have arguably the sh*ttiest QB history that the sport has ever seen and haven’t made the playoffs in 12 years. But Derek Carr isn’t good enough for us? Do some of you guys even realize how much of a knee slapper that is?

The last time Derek Carr played a December game in MetLife he threw for 381 yards at 8.1 yards per clip, 3 TDs, and walked off the Jets by hanging in the pocket and delivering a perfect 46 yard bomb.  Obviously we should ignore this to buy rumors from an organization being mouth-pieced by an egomaniac who has totally never driven talented QBs away as a head coach before, right?  Josh McDaniels would never act like a back-stabbing snake in his life!
