Oddly I’ve seen mocks where QB Levis is available at 13. Mocks be bugging. He’s gone by pick 8. Many teams need QB’s and then there are teams who could groom him for a couple years as well. JD needs to grab a developmental QB in round 4/5.  Tune or the guy from UCLA Dorian would be nice.

I don't see Broderick Jones on that list.  He would be my first choice, compared to D'Brick.  Peter Skornonski would be a close 2nd

Is Paris Johnson is there that’s who I have wanted for months. But latest mocks have him off the board long before we pick.

For sure Skoronski won't be either. Which bites, cause Johnson or Skoronski are my 2 choices as well.

I am a believer in taking a QB late in every draft for a "just in case" you can hit on one. But with the idea of someone like Carr being brought in, I can't imagine us taking a QB late.

The thing is if Carr is brought in, he’s signing a longer contract - say 4-5 years versus a guy like Rodgers, who’s got 2 years left on his. Signing Carr seems to contradict their plans to develop Zach. Drafting a QB late would be a good idea. How many 4th 5th rounders has JD squandered already.

Any of the 'top 3'. Which I'm sure will change. But for now, Broderick Jones, Paris Johnson or Skoronski.

I'm leaning towards Skoronski. He is the most polished (NFL ready) and technically proficient. Even if he ends up having to play G at the NFL level.

Frankly, I think that is fine as the Jets will eventually need a replacement for Tomlinson. Have Skoronski compete for a RT/LT spot and see how he does.

Jones is my second choice as he has great athleticism and is a guy with a higher ceiling and he is an absolute monster in the run game.

Paris Johnson would be a fantastic consolation prize if the other two are off the board.

Again, this may change, there are a lot of good OTs in this draft. Anton Harrison and Dawand Jones are not even on this list. But right now its Skoronski, Jones followed by Johnson.

Peter Skoronski is my #1 target, specifically for his potential flexibility to play several spots on the line well if needed.

I think he'll be very good anywhere we would need to slot him in, and on day 1.

Sadly, as the mocks out there keep evolving, it's starting to look like Skor will be gone before we pick at #13.

Skoronski sounds like the best player, his comp is AVT.  Just like AVT may be better at G due to arm length, but also can do well at T.

I prefer a pure Tackle but Skoronski may be the best guy available and Tackle would be covered as either he or AVT can do well outside. The high level flexibility would be a plus.

My bad for leaving him off.  My brain has been focused on Skoronski vs. Johnson.  I think the consensus is Skoronski but if I was a GM with the choice, it would be an agonizing one to make.  There is a lot to like with Johnson.  OT is such an important position, getting the pick wrong would be a killer.  Look at what the Becton pick did to the line.

Agree with you but IMO drafting the QB is more a 2024 thing.  I think 2023 is the deciding year on Wilson and I also think there are still too many holes to fill (safety, LB, center, etc.)

I am all for it. We need someone long term and like the idea. I cosign.

I’m not a huge fan of taking a QB late. More than any other position, that’s a a lottery pick. Either way, I don’t see the Jets drafting one this year. Signs seem to be pointing to the organization not being as done with Zach as the fan base. The way Douglas has put contracts together so far, I’d guess that even a deal for Carr would have an out after two years.

As for the tackle spot, I’m generally not a big fan of using first round round picks on them, but I do see it as a likely possibility. I’m hoping they find a starter or two for the OL via free agency or a trade beforehand, and I would be fine with them hitting the position a couple times in the draft. The Jets need starters and depth. I don’t know what the offense is going to look like this year, but my preference would be a mauler in the running game. I’m really hoping that Becton is healthy and starting on one side, but I’m something of a hopeless optimist.

Ok true but what’s the harm in signing a guy in round 4 like UCLA Dorian or Clayton Tune to develop. You still need arms whether it be a high prospect or a QB you can develop to be a reliable back up. Right now we got Mike White and Zack. White is probably gone leaving Zach who is a huge question mark.

All late picks are lotto picks. Why not gamble on a QB since we haven't had one in decades. I like Joe Douglas. I hope he sticks. I don't trust Becton.

I would take Branch at #13 and take best OL in round 2.  I don't want Rodgers because of the draft capital we will give up.  Jets have many holes and need their picks so get Carr.  It will also be interesting how the get under the cap after signing Q. Williams and Carr at a minimum?

The primary difference is that pretty much every other position will bring a player who provides depth and/or special teams value. A sixth or seventh round lineman is much more likely to pan out than a QB taken in those rounds. It’s nice in theory until he drafts Captain Morgan in the fourth and people complain about it for years afterwards. It’s different if the team has a handful of comp picks, but with only six or seven players being drafted, I’d be looking to fill holes and build specials.

I suspect the Jets are a couple years away from their next QB pick.

If one of the top 3 OT's are there at 13 you have to grab him because Brown only has one year left if that. The only way I don't take one at 13 is if someone offers a late 1st, 2nd and a 3rd or 4th for a trade down. We need more then 6 picks in this years draft. Make as many picks this year with FA's offseason signings, so we can go for broke and trade up in 2024 for Drake Maye.

The "short arms" thing is so overhyped when it comes to tackle.  Its the feet that matter, positioning and kick-slide, balance and redirect. Once contact is made, it doesn't make a drop of difference if your arms are an inch longer or shorter.  Its a nonsense metric.

We need to get one of thes guys, Skoronski is someone I would like but probably be gone... WE need to stop the BS and draft an OT, C and maybe a G,  Roll with the D as is , of course signing Q, let lawson walk and sign Huff... he has greater upside.  If there is enough $ in the till sign Wagner.  If you get Carr, we are good to go.
