Will the Jets draft a QB now?

Recommended Posts

Now that it’s likely that the veteran QB we pick up this offseason is just a stop gap, do we draft or trade up for one of the top 3 QBs, if they are there (Stroud/Richardson/Young)? Or more likely take one in the 3rd or 4th round as a future project?

With Rodgers likely being a 2 year guy and the other options not being long term, I think it’s likely we grab a QB in this draft. More likely later on, but is there an outside shot we somehow trade ZW for nothing and there is an opening.

Who’s the guy we take a flyer on ?

I would do this. It would be so classic Jets to be overly reactionary over ZWs failures and to stop trying, or to still think they have something in him and stop trying - think about when we passed up on Maholmes because of Sam.

YES. The draft  has some nice QB'S that will be there in the 3rd like Bennett, Duggan, and Haener. One guy who will drop to the 6 or even 7th round is East Carolina QB HOLTON AHLERS, He was the most valuable player in both the Hula and NFLPA game. I like him. He had a great bowl game and had really nice games against Cincinnati. UCF, BYU, Memphis  and a real good North Carolina St. defense.

Haener can be had in the 5th. I'm ok with that, but it could be a swing and a miss.

Just now, The Crusher said:

I’d rather have Joe Douglas pick out a casket for me tomorrow than  ever let him pick another QB for the Jets.

Joe Douglas is the guy that let's the funeral director talk him into the deluxe casket package.

Always thought that they would draft a QB just not early 4th round or later. Look for a Purdy type a leader and winner. Quick decision maker and accurate can make up for not having the best arm strength. Jets have drafted the big arm QB and the smart QB. For my money I will take a Chad Pennington over Browning Nagel any day.

I can see them taking a qb in the middle rounds if they don’t get Rodgers.  That would mean they keep all their picks (they currently don’t have a 6th or 7th but they can always trade back to get them) and would also allow them to start a rookie if the season went sideways.

Actually historically he has just tried to talk the funeral director into giving him the deluxe casket package for the price of a plywood box

I think they have to draft a qb this draft no matter which way the Rodgers or garapollo or …….goes.  Mfw is most likely signing elsewhere and streveler just isn’t that good yet.

White probably wants , and will get opportunities to go somewhere where he has a chance to play (other than injury ) There is a TON of backups though in between his skill level to crap that is Zach Wilson. Wilson has to be the 3 if he is kept.
