Not as many teams in on Lamar as expected...many already bowing out

Also wouldn’t be surprised if the owners have a wink wink deal to not make a fully guaranteed offer to him. In the eyes of an owner, I can’t imagine they’d be too happy dishing out contracts like the one Watson got. Bad for business.

yea, that's called collusion and that's a union no-no.

There are a few issues with the Lamar situation.

Of course #1 is him wanting the Watson deal, if he gets it a clear precedent has been set not a one off, very bad for the teams in the league.

His injury issues are a problem as is the thought he may have opted out of the playoffs.

Next up is the fact that to be lamar he has to run, he has to run a lot.  He can be a decent QB without the running but he is not a superstar without it imo.

If he signs a big deal you do not want him to get hurt, he is then not as good as the contract you gave him

The same reason teams offered a serial predator a 230m fully guaranteed deal regardless of blow back

Team not teams...and that team was the Cleveland Browns...Watson is in Cleveland for one reason and it's not because the summers by the lake are nice.

The Ravens don't think he's worth the money he's asking for, but it's collusion because other teams don't think he's worth what he asking for in addition to two first-round picks?  Make it make sense.

Pretty flagrant collusion considering teams were already lined up to tell anyone who’d listen that they had no interest in Lamar. His counter should be to drop the guarantee demand and take a massive deal from the Dolphins, but the PA won’t let him do that.

Would they want him? They apparently are all in on Tua (risky business) - they haven’t even glanced at Rodgers, who fits their offense better than Lamar does. Plus, they don’t have the draft capital to acquire Lamar, anyway.

I still think a couple of teams might talk themselves into making Lamar an offer.

They haven’t given Tua his extension, either, so all this talk about how they’re all in on him is a transparent lie. I’m not sure Rodgers fits that offense better than Lamar—it requires some athleticism and a willingness to throw over the middle a lot. Rodgers can absolutely run it, but so can Lamar.

I keep seeing that mentioned but is not wanting to make a dumb decision that another team made really collusion?

If some psychotic owner decides to pay his punter $15 mil per next season, is it collusion if the next punter to hit the market isn't offered anywhere close to that?

Teams shouldn't get ripped because they don't want to be as stupid as the Browns.

Not the least bit surprised.  Wouldn't offer the money he's reportedly looking for to a QB who has taken over 700 hits and missed 11 of his last 25 games.

Hey, don’t forget he’s a sh*tty passer and will therefore be left with nothing once his legs go.

None of those teams are beholden to offering a fully guaranteed deal. Atlanta could have whipped up an offer sheet with Kyler Murray money and submitted it for consideration if they so chose. The fact that each of these teams is saying “nope, no, no interest thanks, nope” as their initial salvo tells you that there’s a concerted effort to make an example out of Lamar specifically. What these owners are doing colluding to protect Mike Brown, who has to sign Joe Burrow, and Dean Spanos, who has to sign Herbert. It’s unlikely either of those guys can afford to put $300 mil into escrow.

It feels like what baseball was doing in the 80's. Nothing is more obnoxious than when a bunch of billionaires get together and collectively pull strings.

If LJ is this salty with the ravens front office with a top three contract offer… Imagine how poisonous he will be If he is forced to play under the tag for $32 million. This young man will never make back the money he lost not getting an extension two years ago.

I agree with the second half of your statement... Non guaranteed Lamar is worth 10x guaranteed Lamar.

It's not collusion .. it's follow the leader .. owner is like ... Getting out in front of this is way better than letting bullsh*t build in the fan base.
