Veterans signing underpriced deals in Aaron Rodgers is a Jet; would that happen?

Odell playing for less than he could get elsewhere? Is that possible?

What other vets do you think could come here if the Jets land Aaron Rodgers? We saw it with the Rams as they were making their run. Could it happen here and if so what players do you think the Jets could add?

It depends. Do they view the Jets as the only team they have a shot at getting a ring with? Even then, is winning a ring their #1 priority?

Well let's put it this way, the guys that missed out on the pay day they were hoping for. Because, let's be real anyone that can get paid should.

The first big wave of free agency is over. There is still talent out there. Guys that wanted long term deals, now willing to take a one year prove it. Or vets looking for a last hoorah.

Hoping the Jets are in that conversation. Finally.

They could be. I doubt many players will go to the Jets to be paid less than other places. Maybe on the same deals though.

That's a good way of putting it..nobody is taking a pay cut.

So it would be nice to not have to over pay for once.

If this was the NBA, definitely ha. NFL is an entirely different breed. Not often to players stomp their feet demand trades like NBA. Unlike NBA, NFL players get limited guaranteed salary so I think they go where they can get the most. Rodgers doesn’t seem to have that Brady/gronk brotherly love with anyone. Devonte Adams had to be traded became he wanted to make $$ rather than stay with Rodgers.  Rex brought over lot of his guys from Baltimore. But even Bart Scott will admit it was the better $$ that got him here..

I can see Rodgers signing a more cap friendly contract so the Jets can get some of “his” guys …. For 2 main reasons

1) To prove to GB and the world that GB made a mistake to let him go… yes spite/vengeance/revenge or whatever you want to call it is a strong (shall I say psychedelic) drug.

2) winning a SB in NY will make him a legend and certainly put him over the top as the greatest QB of all time.  Yes NY and the NY  media is that powerful to put him above Brady.  Let’s face it all these elite athletes are driven by ego and narcissism no matter how cool they seem.

While I fully agree that winning a SB for the Jets would greatly add to his career (it might even overshadow what he did in GB and people will associate him more with the Jets), there's no chance of him being considered the GOAT.  And that's true even if he wins back-to-back SBs with the Jets.  Brady won 7 SBs and appeared in 10.

I’m hoping singing Rodgers brings back @CTM

Taking less? Probably not.

Taking the same deal here, and not forcing the Jets to overpay as usual? Likely.

And thats a win.

Jets would have to pay a premium as usual to get players to sign on with Zach Wilson/Mike White/etc.  Rodgers moves the needle, like him or not.

Considering that Rodgers' decision heavily weighs retirement as an option (meaning he would have walked away from a LOT of money) should tell you that it's not his primary driver at this stage of his career.

He's going to want to win and he knows what he needs to do to help his team do it. Why not enjoy those last couple years with teammates you like and winning? He's not going to kill the cap.

The best WR in Football left the Packers in FA last year, so probably not many.
