AFJF
It looks like Rodgers is happening. Assuming the Jets surrender one or two picks this year to lock him up, they'll have approximately: $3 million in cap space. 4-5 draft picks. What do you do next? You restructure a lot and go all in to win over the next two years. Worry about 3 year from now then. 10

Yes, I suspect you cut Davis and Lawson and there's 20mm - neither of them are necessary

Hex
To actually answer your question, I assume they'll cut some of the 3rd/4th stringers to make way for their draft picks as well as restructuring a few contracts.
Jet Nut
A vet backup QB would be nice. 1
AFJF
Correction...with the Quincy Williams deal, adding Rodgers would have the Jets over the cap. I don't see how Mosley survives this.
bonkertons
I think Lawson is a goner. Don't see how they can restructure him. Same with Davis, especially if all these rumors of WRs wanting to come here with Rodgers are true(OBJ, Thielen, Cobb). Lawson makes sense though especially if they want JJ and Clemons to take on bigger roles next year. I'm also hoping McGovern walks and we walk away with one of the big-3 centers from the draft, who all should be potential starters from day one: Schmitz, Tippmann, Wypler. If the 2nd is the pick that goes for Rodgers(this year at least), I'd be looking at a trade down in the 1st to try and get back in the 2nd round. GreenFish
Depends on the trade but here’s my hope for the next couple of days. 1) sign Jordan Poyer. Trade/Cut Whitehead 2) sign Lazard, trade/cut Corey Davis 3) restructure Mosley/JFM and use the money to bring back Rankins and Kwon 4) restructure Lawson (ie pay cut - to $10M bonus and 2 base) or you can use void years if $15M is his market value 5) use remaining cap to bring in Cobbs and bring back McGovern

BigRy56
Not sure anything if off the table if Rodgers comes. Like the Saints have shown us - if you want a player there’s always a way to make it work

Cut Mosley = save $17MM Cut Lawson = save $15MM Cut A.Davis + Bryce Hall = save $5.5MM Others that can wait until they sign someone else first = C.Davis ($10.5MM), Whitehead ($7MM), & possibly Brown ($9MM). Never mind new additions can and will be backloaded (Rodgers first & foremost).
Jethead
Really hope they don't cut Lawson. Will be surprised if they do. Gobsmacked even. There are a zillion ways Jets can make the $ work. Heck, Q's deal can be structured to free up cap space
Jets4Life1979
WR’s Adam Thielen and Allen Lazard want to play with Aaron Rodgers on the #Jets but they are waiting for the official word, per Dianna Russini.

rex-n-effect
I assume if Rodgers happens Douglas goes into win-now and does everything he can to fill every weak spot and sacrifice the future for a SB run. If Douglas can keep drafting well and replace Rodgers, the team might survive a tear down and stay competitive.
football guy
Fletcher Cox is someone to keep an eye on if he doesn’t get re-signed. I think the “Rodgers” guys like Lazard, Thielen, Williams, Cobb, etc. are all in our cross hairs as well. Depth piece on the OL with some experience at C is a must

Do you believe free agent WRs are going to offer a Rodgers discount? Because right now at $10 million, Davis may be the best deal available.

Cutting Lawsom saves you over $15 million Cutting Davis saves you $10.5 million Cutting Whitehead saves you $7 million Cutting Ashtyn Davis saves you almost $3 million There is some wiggle room in JLM's contract as well. Still plenty that can, and will be, done.

Jets wanted him badly… outside of the Rodgers guys he was their top FA they wanted to bring in (top person on D). Going to be interesting to monitor how they fill the holes at DT. Solomon Thomas will be back, but need to replace Rankins and Shepherd. Paying close attention to this Jalen Carter situation…

Will there be pressure to use that 13 on offense coming from Rodgers, or from the owner? If Carter falls...
