Is there anyone half decent left in Free Agency? All of the good DT's are now Gone. Any so-so ones left?

What about the Draft? I think with our 2nd round pick, Mazi Smith from Michigan would be smart. The kid is a beast!

We may need to solve this 1st round

Calijah Kancey (Pitt) or Jalen Carter (Georgia)

Georgia DT Jalen Carter 9 lbs heavier, struggles at pro day

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter was nine pounds heavier than he was at the NFL combine about two weeks ago and couldn't finish his position drills at Georgia's pro day on Wednesday.

Carter, who was once considered a potential No. 1 pick in April's draft, weighed 323 pounds at the pro day. He opted to do only position drills and didn't participate in other aspects of the workout, including the 40-yard dash, cone drills and other physical tests. Carter didn't finish the position drills because he was cramping up and breathing heavily.

Carter worked out in front of scouts and coaches from all 32 NFL teams in Georgia's indoor facility. Three head coaches -- the Falcons' Arthur Smith, Bears' Matt Eberflus and Steelers' Mike Tomlin -- were in attendance.

So Carter may drop, meanwhile Kancey looks like the next John Randle out there. One inch taller and 4 lbs lighter then Danold who has an inch on him regarding arm length.

Draft a LT/RT in the 2nd round

Anton Harrison and Broderick Jones are two guy who may go late 1st early 2nd. Therefore we may have to trade up similar to what we did with Jermaine Johnson to select one of them.

Matthew Bergeron and Jaelyn Duncan can be added to the mix as well.

Kancey is a bad fit; plays Q's position.

Could def still contribute. Had 5.5 sacks last year at 36.

He had 5.5 sack combine at age 34 & 35. So not sure what we'll get at 37. With thats said I have no problem adding him to the rotation and locker room. He can replace Sheppard or Solomon. Would still need a starting DT however.

Good post but I think for our 2nd round pick we need to chose a center.  Maybe DT in the 3rd?  I wonder if we go OT at 13 and LB and Safety in later rounds.  Seems most of the desirable FAs are going fast.  So draft a late round safety and LB and let them compete with UDFAs and whatever depth jags JD can come up with?
