JETS SB
Obviously, we know the Jets motivation in hiring Hackett and signing Allen Lazard, had mostly to do with luring Aaron Rodgers to want to come to play for the Jets. There is one interesting stat for the time Hackett was OC, and Rodgers, and Lazard played together in Green Bay. Not counting 2018, where Lazard had 1 catch, their record together was 39-10. Granted, they had Davante Adams on that team, but we have Garrett Wilson and a top 5 defense, something the Packers never had. Imagine Garrett Wilson with a good QB. During the Jets 4 hour meeting with Aaron Rodgers, having Hackett there could have only been a positive. Likely during that meeting, JD or Woody or whoever, had to have asked Aaron if there were guys he would like the Jets to pursue, to make the transition better for him. Who wouldn't ask a Hall of Fame QB, when trying to lure him to play for you, who he might want on the team, if they were available to obtain? Whether it was a "demand" list or not, really doesn't matter. I choose to believe Rodgers because, to be honest, it makes the most sense. A veteran wide receiver, was definitely going to be something we were going to look for this offseason and Allen Lazard, with his obvious connections and success with Hackett and Rodgers, made the most sense. Did we overpay? Maybe a little. I think he is comparable to some of the mid-tier wide receivers, making 8-10 million per season, but why not sign the guy, who has had the success he has had with Rodgers? And only really commit to him for 2 seasons at 11 million per year. Pretty reasonable. A 6' 5" red zone threat and a perfect complement to Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore (or another comparable slot receiver). Plus he is a veteran WR who can only help Denzel Mims. And you cannot deny, Lazard seems like a really great person, Rodgers loves him, and the guy is a class act. Hopefully Elijah Moore watches and grows up. Lazard also described Nathaniel Hackett as "the best teacher he has ever had, through school and the NFL". Pretty strong compliment. Think about how we felt after the collapse of 2022. We had dreams of trying to get Aaron Rodgers, but many of us were not optimistic. Who would want to play here? But Joe Douglas AND Woody Johnson have given us hope, maybe just for a year or two, but its still hope, and even after the year or two are over, we still have an outstanding core of young talent, and with a little success, we are a team that other good players around the league, might want to be a part of. And who knows, maybe we draft a future QB this season or next. Not counting on it, but until then, lets enjoy some success. I am confident JD will get Rodgers here, without sacrificing our future. But it all started with canning MLF and hiring Nathaniel Hackett. Many hated it and still hate the Hackett move, but can it be possible that he can be a great OC and not a good HC? I tend to believe history. He is not the only good coordinator, that wasn't a good head coach. And now, we (hopefully) pair him up with the guy who won 2 MVPs in 3 seasons playing for him.

rangerous
milfy was not a good oc. he's down in the shi&&y level. we all complained about hackett senior but maybe his play calling was more due to the personnel on the field as opposed to he would really want to do.
