PFF Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

9. CHICAGO BEARS: OT DARNELL WRIGHT, TENNESSEE

Teven Jenkins flourished so much at guard that kicking him back out to tackle would be doing him a disservice. Wright comes as the most experienced right tackle in the draft and gives Chicago a scary offensive line in the run game.

10. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: OT PETER SKORONSKI, NORTHWESTERN

General manager Howie Roseman isn’t going to let Isaac Seumalo walking in free agency cost the Eagles their title as the NFL's best offensive line. Skoronski can start at right guard in Year 1, with his tackle versatility also future-proofing that position.

11. TENNESSEE TITANS: OT PARIS JOHNSON JR., OHIO STATE

Johnson doesn’t necessarily have to play tackle right away thanks to his guard background if the Titans like what they have in Andre Dillard and Nicholas Petit-Frere. Tennessee can’t let its offensive line degrade again with how head coach Mike Vrabel wants to play football.

12. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (FROM TEXANS): OT BRODERICK JONES, GEORGIA

The Steelers saw the tackle run and decided to flip Pick Nos. 17, 80 and 120 to jump the tackle-needy Jets for Broderick Jones. He could truthfully replace either of the Steelers' starters on the outside from last year.

13. NEW YORK JETS: DI CALIJAH KANCEY, PITTSBURGH

The tackle run leaves the Jets empty-handed here, but their desperation at that position is a little overstated. Pairing Kancey with Quinnen Williams would give New York the most athletic defensive tackle duo in NFL history, a nightmare to pass block against on third downs.

@Bobby816 Out of the 3 OTs (since I'll count Skoronski as a G), he has the worse zone blocking grade at 58.2. Broderick Jones and Wright however seem to be good pass blockers.

I like Wright's floor. Jones might have the higher ceiling. But I think if nothing else with Wright is you get a good starting OT for a decade.

That scenario probably means trade back

Especially because he has both second rounders going to Green Bay in a Rodgers trade. So it’d be Kancey and nothing till three picks on day three.

This would actually be a bit painful to watch unfold.

Not only are Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones excellent players and great fits for the Jets, they'd provide the kind of optionality that JD really wants to have with Becton heading into a walk year (after the Jets likely decline his 5th year option).  It's this kind of scenario that ends up biting the Jets and pushes them into signing another veteran OT post-Draft as we end up watching Becton have his best year ever and play all 17 games.

This feels just sliiiiiiightly hyperbolic, tbqh.

Also, just not seeing 4 tackles going in a row right before we pick, but who knows.  If not for Jets luck we'd have no luck.

I’d be cool with this pick. I haven’t watched prospects much this year aside from highlights here and there. Kancey looks so fast.

Our DL will be a problem for opponents. They have to double Q and probably leave a RB or TE to protect. That leaves 2 of our guys singled up. Pick your poison. Keeping guys to max protect also limits what teams can do in the passing game which will make it even easier for our coverage unit to do their job.

Lawson and Huff on the outside with Q and Kancey on the inside would be a fierce pass rush. Then you also have Jermaine and Franklin-Meyer rotating in the group as well.

Kancey doesn't just look fast he is fast. Ran the fastest 40 yard and 10 yard split from a 280+ prospect either in combine history or since 2003.
