Zach: Yeah, just being present, loving life, being with my family and the guys and understanding that I gotta play football for a living and there’s nothing better than that, so.

I don't get "oof" though.  He's trying to find positives with his situation.  He's saying that he's appreciative of the situation he's in rather than looking at it as a negative thing.  He also said "absorbing every day and giving everything I've got".  Isn't that the perfect attitude for the situation he's in?

Was not ready to move across the country to be a pro football player. This is entirely on the Jets. He still spends more time in Utah. It’s not a part time job.

It was a sympathy “oof.” Has to suck answering that question, even though he had a diplomatic answer for it. I still think he gets out of there sooner than later.

A young guy out there that was shredded by the media.  Knows he played like crap, and is making the best out if an extremely tough and stressful situation.  

He is the backup, maybe even 3rd string.  We can lay off the kid for a while.

This is why you do your due diligence. Coming from a huge family, in Utah, where it seems like the mother would want her adult children living at home forever is a flag.

Lol bad culture fit? It’s the NFL! Anywhere he would have gone as the second overall pick he would have had the microscope on it. Zach didn’t fail because he’s a Mormon in NYC. He failed because the speed of the NFL game was too much for him.

The scouting department must have some weird algorithm where they give extra credit to nice kids from two-parent homes or some sh*t because they keep making the same mistake with their quarterbacks. They have to stop drafting kids based on how comfortable you’d be if they were dating your daughter.

Nothing to do with religion. Wilson is still young so in regular life you get a pass. This is the NFL and he was selected to play QB number two overall. He went to college in basically his hometown surrounded by his family. He wasn’t ready to move across the country and break that cord. He still feels the need to go to ByU for the spring game for whatever reason when realistically he should be in NY.

The Jets franchise is a meat grinder. The QB is getting little to no support, on or off the field. Taking Johnny Sunshine off the beaches of SoCal or Bumpkin Lenny from the suburbs of Utah and dropping them into Hoboken like a green recruit storming the shores of Normandy is always going to fail. They need to draft self-sufficient roughnecks with hair on their chests.

For whatever reason this algo has flagged the amount of work needed to be an NFL starting QB.

I come from a small Italian family in jersey, and my mom would want me to live home forever too… I’ve never understood this constant issue with him being close with his family who’s live in Utah. It’s the off season. He’s more than allowed to be at home with family. In fact, I’d rather that be the case. Be with people who really care about you and not bozos who are out to clout chase by being around you.

We all have been wondering what his offseason mental and physical program is.

What is it?  Can he do it in Utah?

he just gave you the yeah I suck but family first is what matters in that interview above. Being a pro QB you basically have to be present at all times near the facility until you make it. Wilson has had commitment issues from the jump and my guess would be in part because he’s homesick. He was certainly coddled.

Yes I know many people from this type of family situation. I don’t necessarily thinks it’s compatible with a 22 year old kid being asked to be a starting quarterback on the other side of the country.

A majority of this fan base wants to hate Zach. Quite a few did before he ever took a NFL snap. LaFleur was the issue not Zach
