Hopkins doesn’t want the Jets or Pats. Interested in Bills and Chiefs.

For the first time I'm starting to really worry about Joe Douglas.

I've been a major supporter of Joe.  Because I've felt he's been, at worse, competent.  And competence is something the Jets have been lacking in a GM very long time.  He had a long term vision and was following through on his stated plan.  Yes, he's obviously made mistakes - but, again, the plan was logical and you will eventually see success if you run an organization making logical, thoughtful decisions....

But this off-season has been a complete clown show.  Seemingly lacking in any plan other than "Get Rodgers."  And even that process has been a mess.

31 with a cap number of 30 million this year, 25 million next year.  Most of the extension was bonus so I don’t know how much a new team would be on the hook for.

21 million in dead money if traded or cut pre June 1, 9 million if after

Averaging 11 starts a year the last 4 years.

not holding my breath on this one

Diminishing talent plus bloated salary I’m glad he doesn’t want to come here. If we’re looking at old Cardinals receivers give me Larry Fitzgerald over this guy knowing that he’s retired two years he is still better than Hopkins
Jets receivers are just fine as presently constructed. A decent QB makes them even better

I don’t see why this is so strange. The patsies haven’t been very good since Brady left  and it’s hard to see where the jets wind up even with Rodgers. Meanwhile the chiefs and bills have been pretty dominant over the past couple of season and this age, Hopkins wants a ring or at least a good chance at one.

Partly correct imo.  The Jets went off the logical and methodical rails when they fell in love with Rodgers and let all other options evaporate.

If OBJ has a solid plus type season, passing on him for an extra 5 mill might look pretty stupid. JD isn’t willing to bend on his idea of what the player is worth but we keep missing in free agents and now have countless holes to fill. Not good.

COUNTLESS holes.  And yeah, OBJ for an extra five million is not the right call.  Sure, it will look wonderful if he lasts the season.  And let me guess how many people on here want to take the $15 million gamble that OBJ makes it through the season.

Eh.  Bad pick obviously and defiantly means you have to adapt.- but it's clear to me there is currently no discernible plan - short term or long term other than "Get Rodgers"

Apparently lots of people still think Hopkins is in his prime around her giving him a long term 20 per year deal is same old Jets nonsense that I don't think they were doing anyway.  If it was up to the brain surgeons around here our offseason would have been giving Derek Carr 40 mil a year and Hopkins 20.

Carr turns it over too much. None of the draft prospects do much for me. Lazard is a really nice player that blocks well and hardman will be involved in the return game and jet sweeps. They need an OT and a center and if Hall Becton and Brown are healthy and they get Rodgers by June this will be a potent offense. They add a DT and a linebacker and we’re cooking. It’s still April. Take a breath my friend.

We were routine champs of the offseason for years under Maccagnan and were a laughingstock.  Not sure we want to go back to that...

Hopkins is the Cris Carter or Art Monk of this generation. He's an elite big, physical possession wr with elite hands and toughness. Guys like that can approach their mid 30s and still catch 90 for 1200 and 10 tds.

That being said I'd rather have Jordan Addison if he makes it to 27

I also think Bills fans undervalue Gabe Davis

Seeing these comments, I am a bit confused. You all realize Hopkins is not a free agent right? Like, he doesn’t choose where he goes. He goes where they trade him. Period. And with the money he is making, he isn’t holding out, if he is traded to the Jets. I seem to remember an article the other day saying the Jets were not interested in Hopkins. Now everyone is blaming JD for not chasing after this guy after everyone complains we are going after old washed up players. Some of you, and you know who you are, are too old and washed up, to even know what the hell is happening. Pathetic. Maybe do a google search every one in a while, just to keep up. Our WRs are fine. We can draft one in the middle rounds. We have the rookie of the year and Rodgers buddy Lazard, picked up Hardman. He’s done more with less in Green Bay.
