My 2 pennies

we were supposed to be going “all in” this offseason. If penny pinching, missing out on players and signing mid level dudes is what JD considers all in then idk what tf we are doing here

very underwhelming offseason tbh

bingo. This is NOT all in at all

1   The off season is not over

2   If he lands Rodgers as well as Lazard (75 mill in combined salary)  and hits on his draft we are a Super Bowl favorite

3   I think thats pretty decent considering cap limitations.

Why is every Jet fan so whiny and embarrassing?   It's like a whole bunch of Mike Greenbergs from Syosset....thank God I'm not a Met fan also. lol

because it's been a generation since we've been to the playoffs.  And it feels like a millennium since we've won a championship.

Don't piss on Jets fans, piss on the team.

I think it's just the Long Island fanbase....lot's of cry babies and weaklings on the Island.

Wana break that down for us? We will wait

Zack - miss

AVT - hit

Moore - hit

Carter - hit

Sherwood - will likely be a starter very soon - hit

Carter - hit

Pinnock - starter - hit

nas - unknown - miss

Echols - great backup and spot starter - hit for a late round pick

Marshall - miss but a 7th rounder

I already spoke with @Green Ghost about this and he begrudgingly agreed

The hardest thing in all professional sports is getting a franchise QB.

Let Douglas and Saleh do their jobs building an actual NFL program and success will come. The Steelers are the model organization. 3 coaches in 50 years

Constantly firing ppl like a meth addict is a short term fix dealing with a long term problem.

Stop changing the coordinators even if they are still learning, stop firing gms , stop trying to take the short cut and do it the right way

First, we are not Super Bowl favorites.  I doubt we will be favored to win our own division.  Still, back to reality, it would be a pretty striking improvement.

LMAO....are you serious? Moore isnt on the friggen team and hated by the fan base

Wilson at 2 ( the most important pick) is a generational bust

Sherwood LMAO

Carter - TBD (sucked last year)

AVT - HIT

Nah - big miss

Echols - miss

Marshall - miss

Pinock- not on team aka miss

Carter DB - We will see

I see the negative glasses shining thru here.

carter the db is a top 10 (maybe 5) slot in the league

Echols is not a miss. For a late round pick he’s fantastic. Most guys are out of the league in that pick slot

Pinnock is a starter and a late round pick. 100% hit

Carter is not a lead back but as a change of pace guy he’s great. Mid round pick - hit

You’ll see about Sherwood. He was very good last year when he played and will likely see significantly more play time this year and will eventually take over for CJ. (Most good teams have developmental guys waiting in the wings fyi)

By request.....for my haters, needed to get some things off my chest.

Luv yas!

I have to admit I found this entertaining, liked the part about his temper :).

Listen, you have a lot of fair points regarding the mistakes he’s made.

I’ve listed a couple ways to evaluate performance outside wins and losses to date.  Last year was the first year we could have reasonably expected wins and we fell short of a playoff appearance for 1 obvious reason.

1.  HOME RUNS vs. STRIKEOUTS.. factoring in some context

HRs

- DJ Reed, quite possibly the best free agent pick-up in last year’s entire cycle

- Sauce, a bold (unconventiona) pick for the Jets system

- Garrett, we finally land a #1 WR

- Breece, a surprise selection no one saw coming; has a good chance to be the future face of the franchise

- AVT, a Swiss Army knife who might allow us to draft best player @13 this year rather than OT

STRIKEOUTS

- Zach Wilson killed what could have been a wildcard season last year.  He should also be compared to Trey Lance, Mac Jones and Justin Fields … not Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, or Trevor Lawrence

- First draft, which he currently deserves an F for.  How much influence did Gase have?  To me, it’s still Joe’s job to make the final decisions

Assessment:  Zach cost the Jets a wildcard last year but the roster otherwise has elite young talent at several positions.  This one is simply going to come down to the Aaron Rodgers pivot and corresponding development of a young QB (likely not named Wilson) post Rodgers.  The silver lining here is that Wilson has been SO BAD that they don’t need to spend a third year evaluating someone who you already kind of know isn’t the guy (see Mac Jones; Sam Darnold)

————————————————————————

2. Performance Trend Line:  Player Acquisition

2020 Off-season:  F

2021 Off-season:  C-

2022 Off-season:  A

Assessment:  the trend is our friend.  2022 has the potential to be a transformational draft and the miss on Zach has a chance to be corrected this off-season…. Different than the situations in Denver and Cleveland while noting SF’s current miss on Lance (costing picks as well) can be overcome.
