Steelers moving up, we fall below patriots and green bay both who could take an OT.  The ot cupboard could be bare.  I'm preparing for a DT or rush end now.

they could trade back from 15 and still get an OT.  and draft a center in round 2.  i think this draft just got more unpredictable.

IMO there is a real and viable tier drop off for OT in this draft.  I fear we lose out by the move down.  We shall see.

Of the whole deal people are saying the the moved down is the least part of the trade but it could be very big.

McShay spot on with this one

He should have let his buddy JD know this was coming.  It does make you think though that the Steelers might have still leapfrogged over the Jets even if they had stayed at #13, which means that maybe the “pick swap cost us an OT” talk may be overblown.

This is the reality people are forgetting. It was Pittsburgh who initiated the move up in front of the Jets. If the Jets stayed at 13 Pittsburgh would still have jumped in front of the Jets and the Jets still would have chosen McDonald.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. Detroit was at 12 and took a RB. Unless they felt they had to have him, Pitt likely jumps to 12. So then we draft McDonald at 13 or Van Ness if we had him higher.

This is what people don’t realize.  The Steelers could have moved up to 12.

the jets can still address OL in this draft.  Getting jones or wright did not change this team any more than taking an OL tonight and tomorrow.

He wasn't gonna' be there at 13.  Definitely won't be there at 15.

He was there...as were ALL the other WR as were ALL the TEs

Instead we reached for an edge rusher after drafting two last year.

Just a pathetically stupid draft pick.

That's me, please do not mistake me saying we were going to take DT or Edge as an endorsement of wanting or thinking it would be good to take either.  If you see my other pre draft posts you see that I was absolutely most opposed to taking an edge.

I see. But if they feel the BPA is him you should stay true to the board. Personally I think TE would be a total waste. Having Rodgers is going to elevate their game. It’s amazing what a good QB can do to make WRs TEs and the offensive line look a lot better. The Jets offense was not good primarily due to poor QB play. The TEs OL and WRs just got better

People literally complained for a decade about rodgers not getting enough weapons.  McDonald was obviously their top guy.

Edge was for sure not a position of 'need', the position to me is over valued for a team like the jets due to being so heavy rotation wise, edge is one of the few positions of depth in this draft.

About the only guy i would have hated as much being picked would have been nolan smith.

I wanted JSN, but this isn't a stupid pick.  The end of season mantra was to "finish" and win football games.  With Rodgers at QB, they're anticipating having leads.  This pick is a way to have high end edge rushers who are fresh in the fourth quarter so those leads can stand up.

They've neglected edge for years.  I won't complain over them finally addressing it.

We paid huge bucks to lawson we drafted clemons and jj last year, we resigned huff.  And the last three dudes play a very limited amount.  If people are telling me this dude is a necessity then it also tells me all the players we fawned over last year were terrible moves.
