**** picks. We've been picking in the top 10 for 50 ******* years. We've had 16 first round picks the last 11 years, THREE last year. We're fine. Went from 13 to 15 and gave a 2. Who ******* CARES?? ?

We got a HOFer at QB. We upgraded from Bottom 1 to Top 10.

Enjoy the next 2 years. We'll worry about AROD leaving and finding a replacement when it's time.

Yay!  HOFers!  Art Monk!  Ronnie Lott!  Steve A****er!  Brett Favre!  Ty Law!  LaDainian Tomlinson!  Ed Reed!  Frank Gore!

Essentially a first and a 2nd round pick for a 1 year rental of a 40 year old qb who was 90% going to retire in the off-season.

brilliant!

If jets don’t win a Super Bowl it’s a stupid trade. Especially because jd got no protections if ARod does retire after this year.

if he does indeed only play 1 year and retire jets are stuck with like 50 mill in dead cap? No?

The Rams haven’t had a 1st round pick in 7 f*cking years.

But having to give up a pick somewhere in the 25-32 range is somehow catastrophic for what immediately becomes the greatest player in the history of this sorry ass team.

The same people who hate this are the same people who wanted the Jets to sign Gardner Minshew so we could tread water at 6-11/7-10 until we draft the inevitable next bust at QB.

The Rams have a great HC.  The jets have a pump jockey.

Sorry man, didn’t realize Carl’s post won the time stamp battle when I merged.

Not sure why your underoos are in a twist. This was simply a topic to talk the draft with the picks we have left. You can scream and cream those same underoos in a different thread.

Because going all in has always worked out for us...

Post Rodgers Trade look like:

Round 1 - 15

Round 2 - 43

Round 4 - Pick 112

Round 5 - 143, 170

Gotta think JD does some deals to get some more draft picks, yes?

Feels like a 0% chance the Jets pick at both 15 and 43 now.  At least one of them is going bye-bye to accumulate a couple more picks this year.

In JD's mind that has to look like an anxiety-filled chasm between 43 and 112.  I think he'd want to turn #43 into a couple picks in the 50's and 80's or something.

Brett Favre was 8-3 and got hurt. Law, LT and Ed Reed all played well for the Jets. And none of them were within 18 months of being MVP. So. Aside from being a bitter old fart, what's your point?

?

I will not clutter this thread with how overrated the 2008 Jets are.  I already mentioned that fat **** in it a couple of times.  This is a time to celebrate.  Next year we can skip Day 1 of the draft!

Wasn't that the Tannenbaum approach in '09-'10 though?  Except the QB was Mark Sanchez.

Nothing has worked for this franchise since the merger.  Let's not pretend like there's any "right way" the Jets have ever done it.

Ask the seahawks, jamal adams

Denver a billion 1sts for Russel wilson

Deshaun watson for the browns

Guess what we got AVT and And garret wilson for adams, picks make a difference

The shrug and picks don't matter attitude is only relevant if this works out beautifully for the jets.

If Rodgers gets hurt or fails and retires after one year it is a disastrous move.

we are giving up picks past the mid 20's not top ten picks....you think that matter or not?

The Rams went all in. They were rewarded for it, and now they're gonna be bad for a long time.

JD has still been playing the value game on every other part of this off season and appears to not be willing to go all in.

And yet the Jets are still just as bad as those teams.

It’s all about QB. You have to take a chance at some point. Sacrificing one year is worth it.

Was your plan to tank and get a top 2 pick next year for a QB? Cant keep living in mediocrity.

All of them were shot except for Favre (8-3 until hurt) and you got half of Tomlinson’s ability.

Aaron Rodgers can still put a football in a Thimble 50 yards downfield….just not the tiniest thimble known to mankind, like he did at his highest level.

The Jet D shows up and Rodgers generates minimally on average 2 TD’s passing and a drive where someone runs it in…..Then the Jets are a very “tough out”.  Translates to lots of W’s.

For better or worse, this is the QB move that I (disliked the least?) liked the most. The cost is a little (not much) more than I expected, and I would’ve liked the condition tied to the Jets post season results rather than Rodgers’ snaps, but it’s hardly a capitulation or lopsided trade. You have to give to get.

Not talked about is the swap up from #207 to #170 late. Douglas has drafted Sherwood, MC2, Pinnock, and Bryce Hall in the fifth round. Not exactly a murderers row, but certainly roster worthy guys.

Draft will be interesting now. Lot of trade down speculation, but JD has had better luck recently sticking & picking or trading up.

Do you think that seattle thought they were not going to give up a top 10 pick?

Did Denver think they were giving up a high pick to houston?

Cleveland giving up the pick they gave up?

If things go well for the jets they give up late picks and have had a great year.

There is zero guarantee in the NFL, a couple of injures and you are giving up a top 5 pick.

This is the ultimate in risk reward moves, there is a huge potential reward but a massive risk as well.

The Jets gave up pick 42 and a pick in the 20's next year that's not two high 1st rounders these two things are not the same.
