A Warfish "All the Trade Downs Offered" Mock Draft

Now, sitting post Rodgers Trade, I will finally join the full-on chorus of "TRADE DOWN!!" with the #15 pick.

So in the interest of a little fun, I did a quickie mock draft and pretty much accepted the best trade downs the mock system offered me early on, and I LOVED the ultimate result.

The top of this draft would perhaps be a second "Dream draft" for me, after last year's early haul.  Immediate contributors and starters at LB, Center, DT and WR.

I like the Jack Campbell pick. How about a trade with KC?

17 for 31,63, 2024 2nd + 3rd

If there's a way we can get a 2024 first rounder in any deal involving the 15th pick, I would be ecstatic.

I did one where we traded with Tampa.  We dropped into the 2nd round, but got an additional 4th this year, and 1st and 2nd round next year.

Yep...

But if a trade down only results is getting a 2024 #2.  That's not a  bad consolation to help cushion the blow of losing that #1.  And should be a little more potentially a move that could happen.

So we traded again to Green Bay? And they didn't take that wr at 13?

If we could thos picks sure great but doesn't seem likely.

But if we could trade with putt and get to trade back again I'm not sure we want to do and give up our first round completely. Having a shot at the top is valuable.

This would be what 4 second rounders and no firsts? I rather have a first and two second roundwrs

Aye, like I said, these mock sites are all a bit silly, more meant to be a representation of the theoretically possible than the specific.

In terms of possibility, would all depend of who falls, interest in moving up, all the usual.  Always harder than fans think.

We can agree to disagree on that.  Getting these four players > getting 1 guy at 15 and 1 at 43 IMO.

Going to be very interesting to see what JD does tonight.  He's not known for trading down his top picks.  On the contrary, he's traded up several times in his brief career so far.  So who knows :)

I'm all for trading back but you need a partner and is there anyone available at 15 that teams would give up extra assets for?  We would have to hope a QB falls or the Ohio St. WR.

There's always someone looking to move up, it's all a matter of whether Douglas is willing to take 75 cents on the dollar if it comes down to it.  Personally, I would.

I've gotta say, if JD receives anything remotely close to the offers that draft sim offered up... ?

In the interest of transparency, I wasn't really paying attention and thought that Chi was offering this year's 2nd in the trade down. Not sure I would have taken it if I realized it was next years, but it will worked out well. Dalvin Cook in a 2nd round trade down made me laugh a little bit. I also have zero idea of who any player is outside of the first round, so I don't claim rounds 2 and 3 to be good picks. I just took the highest ranked player left who happened to be a position of need.

I guess it depends who's on the board...what are you getting from moving from 15 to 25 in this years draft next years 2?

Moving down that far in the 1st should get you something like a late 3 / early 4 this year and a 2 next year.  I'll take it!

Yeah I would do it unless there's a lineman they love I wouldn't just settle for whatevers left...honestly I don't think these lineman are that great.

That would be drama central if it unfolded like that.

Murphy: Listen Joe, our fan base is going to kill Guntkunst & me if it's only #42 and a conditional 2nd next year. How about swap #13 for our #15 and I promise I'll offer you #42 back and a little extra gravy for #15 if your OT is gone

Yeah, understood and to some degree agreed, he'd be nice to have if he's healthy and the guy he was 2 years ago, would make a great pair with Wilson for the longer term.

But I think we'd all come to like Tillman at WR, he's everything Davis hasn't been, specifically in terms of not dropping passes.

From PFF:

Tillman is the most physical receiver in the draft class. He's a safe bet as a possession receiver, as he dropped only five of his 104 career catchable targets.

Where he wins: Catch radius

Tillman wins by presenting his quarterbacks with massive windows. He’s going to attack 50-50 balls in a way that will quickly build rapport with his quarterbacks in the NFL.

What’s his role: Vertical tree X receiver

Teams will want Tillman to utilize his size on the outside, where he can lead block on screens and get his hands on defensive backs during his routes.

What can he Improve: Press coverage

Tillman needs more answers for press coverage than just hand-fighting. Corners that can match his physicality take him out of his quarterback’s progression.

Lol, well, I did nail the Wilson and Hall picks last year, so I'd have one ORotY on my resume today, lol.

Not that I was against Sauce, but I think I was aiming more Edge than CB at that spot.  But Sauce was just wow.

I will loudly shout that I was wrong on Sauce.  Not that I didn't think he was a great player going into the Draft, but I had at least 3 guys I wanted more than him at #4.  Glad to be 100% wrong.  If Jermaine Johnson steps up this year and looks like a longterm starter then the Jets ended doing just about everything I had hoped they would last year.

Yeah I love Tillman he's THE Tennessee WR I'd want ... Hyatt is fools gold imo.

JSN is in a different class than the rest of the receivers this year though.

Only one with a truly safe floor and exciting ceiling.

I don't want to draft an OT at 15 at all.  Douglas is supposed to be an OL guru.  And we now have a HOF QB under center.  Figure it the f**k out without constantly having to use 1st round picks.
