Let's say the AR trade fell through. What do you think JD's approach would have been?

I think we would've gone with Will Levis at QB at #13 (I know he lasted until round 2 but I doubt the Jets could've risked that).  I still think Tippman would've been taken with one of our 2nd rounders.  I could see Cody Mauch (or maybe Brian Branch) with the other.

Go get another veteran. Tannehill, maybe? I think he’s pretty committed to the idea of Zach Wilson developing, so I think he’d go old and try for a reset instead of young.

Don’t think the general plan would’ve changed a lot. With more draft picks he might have moved up for a tackle to ensure he didn’t get jumped. Other than that probably a lot of the same.

hard question.

i heard that next years QB class is supposed to be better than this one so taking a QB would be out.

i guess get Teddy B or Wentz. not sure anybody else is available for trade. if they are then we should find out soon now that the draft is over.

Joe Douglas would be fine they'd trade and overpay for some vet.

He should have been filing out unemployment benefit papers though.

Even the success of getting Rodgers Douglas totally botched the negotiations from early on.

When the owner makes it clear it's ride or die with Rodgers, JD's negotiating hands were tied.  It was like playing poker with your cards up and the other player's down.

Are we actually doing this?

I'll make an exception for you.  Everyone else is required to play though.    And answers are needed by end-of-day.

What is the point? Hey, I got one for you, Let's say we took London and Stingley  instead of Williams and Sauce. Is Zach still our starter?

i can't help but think douglas already had a plan b and even plan c in mind.  he probably already knew he had enough in draft picks to make the deal happen so there was little chance it would fail.  but if it did fail then he would probably go after a vet like tannehill or even minshew or mariota.  it's doubtful he would try to go into the season with a rookie so that leaves out whatever qb was available at 13. and above all he would make sure hackett was comfortable with the qb choice.

I agree.  He would have taken Levis in round 1 after a trade back and also signed Wentz.
