IMHO, there is a 194% chance Jets @ Giants is the 1st MNF game of the season

Just makes too much sense.

Chiefs at the Jets would also be epic, but Super Bowl winner usually opens at home

Does seem to be the logical choice.

Could be a traffic/security nightmare if President Biden is there to commemorate. I remember the 10th anniv on a Sunday night and we were stuck on rt 3 for 2 hours even leaving 5 hours before game time due to increased security.

I doubt that.

I hope so.

I have general admission seats for a Pearl Jam concert on Sunday the 10th, which means I have to get there at about noon and wait around 6 hours for the gates to open to ensure a good spot, so I'm going to miss all of Sunday week 1.

The Jets and Giants play each other what, every 4 years and no one ever thought of matching the 2 NY teams up for 911, why would it be 194% this year?

I never understood why they were matched up in the past anymore than why the Mets and Yanks don’t meet in Sept

Of course the game will be on 9/11.

Saw Pearl Jam at sea here now in asbury park 2 years ago. They put on a hell of a show

The only other time 9/11 fell on a NFL day (i.e. Sunday or Monday) in the same year that the Jets happened to play the Giants was 2011, the 10th anniversary.

That year the NFL set it up so that the Jets (coming off an AFC championship game appearance) played Dallas in the Sunday night game.

They sent the Giants to play the Redskins in Washington that Sunday.  So the league covered memorializing the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with games in NY and Washington.

I have almost zero doubt that they'll put the Jets and Rodgers in primetime week 1 - so Monday night would make the most sense.  It would also make sense to have them play the Giants...but...that is technically a Giants home game...so the league might want the pro-Jets/Rodgers crowd for the game...so it might not be the Giants.

It wouldn't shock me at all if it were the Giants, but it could also be the Commanders or the Patriots.

Nice!

I've seen them at Lolapalooza in 1992 at Jones Beach, 1996 Buffalo, 1998 Chicago and Indy, 2000 Indy, 2003 Indy and 2013 at the Barclay's Center...so it's been 10 years since I've seen them.

Jets/Pats would be nice - get Rodgers off to a good start by ending that damn streak.

I saw them in 1992 with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sound Garden, Ice Cube & Ministry for like $12. What does it cost to see them these days?

It was $400 a ticket. but it’s a 2 day festival with 3 stages and 60 bands. Pearl Jam and smashing pumpkins were the headliners that year. PJ put on a 2 hour show.

This year the headliner is foo fighters, but also have other good bands like the killers, weezer, Greta van fleet, royal blood, Nathaniel rateliff, rebulution, beach boys and like 50 other bands lol.

I also live in asbury park so I go every year. But to me it’s worth the 400$

Cool. As an aside, Smashing Pumpkins is probably the worst band I've ever heard. Listening to Billy Corgan sing whine for more than 30 second puts me into an instant fit of uncontrollable rage.

Tickets to the show I'm going to in Indy were $60-$120 for GA seats.  The higher priced seats were in the Pit.  The lower priced GA seats were in a lawn area that holds about 18,000 people, most people stand all show but your allowed to bring blankets, chairs etc.

They're also doing "Premium" seats - I don't know what you get for the premium - but face on those ranged from $800-$900 and the Premium seats I saw were no different other regular priced seats.

I've been stuck on route 3 for 2 hours under normal conditions

That Cowboy game was a great game...  #RevisIsland
