Scared Teen Titans GIF by DC

The rock I live under has a person named Ja Morant there.

John Morant? Never heard of him.

Ja? Looks like he's trying to end his career early.

Then again, he got lightly slapped on the wrist last time.

And now the Grizzlies, getting out in front of the issue, are "suspending him from Grizzlies related activities"

So Ja won't have to go to the hospital and visit sick and dying kids? I'm sure he's heartbroken.

Then, in a few months, camp starts, and there he is,  practicing.

And then a couple of months later, he'll be videoed waving a gun around in a strip club again.

What I was implying is, do you watch the news or ESPN?  It’s  a huge story. It was a huge story in March when he did it the fIrst time. Slap on the wrist? Players are saying he should be suspended for an entire season.  If I was the owner of the Grizzlies, I would want this guy off the team asap. This guy is Antonio Brown on steroids.

I was just busting your ass on getting the name wrong, for fun and good times.

I'm pretty into bball, so I'm aware of the story, on going.

The Grizz might deal him...but I doubt it.

Miami probably gets him cheap then, since Riley is a scumbag who things always work out for.

Open carry means brandishing guns in public.  Perfectly legal in TN.   I'm not making a statement that I agree with or don't agree with it.  It is what it is.

It’s about the sponsorship and advertising dollars. Perception is reality. Cmon. They know this when they come into the league. It’s explained in detail at the rookie meetings

What's the issue?  Please explain.  Colorado also allows open carry of loaded guns.   I believe the video was taken in a Denver nightclub.  Not sure if the nightclub specifically bans and posted that open carry of loaded weapons is not allowed?

What do you think open carry means?  A gun that's loaded and openly displayed is legal.

He flashed a red dot on an opposing teams bus which was probably the worst of the transgressions.  He’s reckless.

NBA probably has rules.  Can't smoke weed or see hookers and work where I work, even if it is legal where you do it.

Why should I care if he broke NBA rules that are in conflict with culturial acceptable norms in the USA?

We've moved on from the concept of the responsible gun owner about 2 decades ago.

His friend who posted that got into a court side altercation with some pacers players. He’s bad news. Ja has to cut ties with the idiots around him or say goodbye to his career

Because the problem is the friends, not the waving guns around?

Because my employer doesn’t make money televising my work and the networks don’t make a living charging advertisement fees to watch me work. You know better.

I remember when Major league baseball and all the pro league's were adiment about having a firewall between gambling and the game.  The NFL has a team in Las Vegas and has multiple sponsors who are actively advertising to minors to get them into gambling.

I remember when the NRA actively promoted the "responsible gun owner" as part the argument for gun rights and we had actual regulations regarding gun ownership and open cary.

The culture is changing.  Now I would argue it's not for the better but it is what it is.  There is obviously a good portion of the public that supports gun ownership and open carry who aren't concerned at all about his behavior.  Intimidation by people with guns is becoming rutine in this country.   Morant's behavior in today's America isn't at all shocking, it's actually normal.
