C Mart
Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero Former #Patriots OT Yodny Cajuste will be visiting the #Jets today and the #Giants tomorrow, per source. Cajuste was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round (101st overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was placed on the non-football injury list to start the season after undergoing quad surgery. On September 10, 2020, Cajuste was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Cajuste entered the 2021 as a backup tackle for the Patriots. He made his first career starts in Weeks 5 and 6 at right tackle. On October 1, 2022, Cajuste was placed on injured reserve with a thumb injury. He was activated on October 29. On May 18, 2023, Cajuste was waived by New England. He redshirted his first year, and then started the first six games of the 2015 season at left tackle before missing the rest of the regular season with a knee injury (returned as a reserve for the Cactus Bowl). Another knee injury ended his 2016 after just one start at left tackle. Cajuste stayed healthy throughout his junior year, garnering second-team All-Big 12 honors after starting all 13 games on the blind side. He shared the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award with two other draft prospects (Kansas State's Dalton Risner, Oklahoma's Dru Samia) in 2018, starting 11 games at left tackle for the Mountaineers. He did not play in WVU's bowl game so he could focus on the draft.

Jets have a type at OT - often injured and waived. 3

jetstream23
Should George Fant still be under consideration? He's still a free agent? Injury concerns? Too expensive? He's only 30.

However, the lack of interest league wide could lead anyone to believe that Fant's knee might be so bad at this point that he will retire. just speculation of course

y2k8
He'd be great depth for the OL if he could stay healthy, but his injury history speaks for itself. Makes sense to kick the tires. But I imagine they are going to take a pass on him.

CSNY
Don’t understand the hate for Fant. He Played close to Pro Bowl caliber left tackle before his knee injury without any training camp reps, and he knows the offense Would definitely sign him depending on just how bad his knee is

They'll just come back with "yeah but the penalties called against the Pats were at non-pivotal points so the league could disguise their bias." Been on this site a long time. I know how it works. He might be one of those guys who is now waiting for an injury somewhere in the league so that he can get more money than he otherwise would from a desperate team. I think Billy Turner became the cheaper veteran option the Jets ended up going with. I also think there was an expectation on his part with the Jets that he'd compete at LT and could end up starting there when Fant first got here. He was given $27M over 3 years, which is what you'd pay an average starting LT. But the Jets immediately drafted Becton and moved Fant to RT. But then Becton had some injuries and Fant did play LT quite well for periods of time. But now, even though us fans are still somewhat concerned and not completely comfortable with the LT spot, I think the Jets feel like between Duane Brown, Becton and developing rookie Carter Warren, they're somewhat set at the position. If Fant was added right now it's unlikely he would start. That said, I'd feel great if he were on the roster.
