OtherwiseHappyinLife
For most of the last 12 years, the Jets talent has been on the left side of a normal distribution curve ... to put it kindly. Talent, injuries, and coaching are likely at the top of the NFL success factor list, with QB probably the #1 factor. Where do you rank the 2023 Jet starters on an individual basis? My own rankings 1. Elite, let's define as top 5th percentile which would roughly equate to First Team All Pro. Feel free to agree/disagree with the AP's 2022 list (Q, Sauce 1st team; Mosley 2nd team). Consider WR2, CB2 and Slot as unique roles rather than grouping all WRs together, all CBs together. Sauce, Quinnen 2. Excellent, let's define as top 5-20th percentile or top 6-7 positional players. Rodgers, AVT, Breece (fully healthy), DJ Reed (#2 CB) 4. Very Good, defined as top 21-40th percentile or top 13 positional players. Garrett (I already have him as a top 10 #1 WR & expect him to reach next tier this coming year), Carter II (slot), JFM 5. Not Very Good, defined as bottom 21-40th percentile or bottom 13 positional players. Tomlinson, Corey Davis (definition of inconsistent w/ play & injuries), McGovern (there's a reason he signed a low budget deal w/ the Jets; why we need Tippmann to start @ Center) 6. Poor, defined as bottom 5-20th percentile or bottom 6-7 positional players. 7. Stinks, defined as bottom 5th percentile or 1-2 positional players. 8. No idea, too many question marks Tippmann (C), Becton (RT), Tony Adams (FS) Let's call average the 40th - 60th percentile bucket. I have guys like Mosley, Quincy Williams, JJ, Lawson, Brown, Whitehead, Lazard here.
