Bam knight is a lock.  Ashyton Davis and Tony adams are locks.  Solly Thomas lock.

Kuntz is a practice squad guy.

Bernard converse - practice squad.

Mimsy is a cut.  Its not Mimsy time.

Kapp is not a def cut.  Has been impressing and has a chance to stick around.

Kuntz is a lock, physically and mentally was the best TE in the draft. Most

know his speed and jumps but he was also the strongest TE taken in the draft

tying for the lead in BP  reps as well as owning a 365 power clean mark.

His physical marks were set scant months after knee surgery. In 2021 the only

season he played every game in he finished with 73 catches 2nd in the

nation. Won numerous academic awards in college. Stronger and faster than

Mayer & Washington, has the physical tools and brightness to become the

the best TE from the 2023 draft class

He almost went undrafted for a reason.  Hes 100% practice squad at best.

Cobbs contract is designed for him to be cut and brought back onto the team. Mims most likely will claim his spot during roster cuts but Cobbs will claim the 5th spot when brought back.

Kunts definitely won't make the squad. Solomon Thomas is a lock to make the squad.

I think Nasirildeen has more of a chance to make the team over Barnes. Both guys are PS material but have a chance due to lack of competition.

Adam and Davis are locks. Converse may be PS material.

Think this list is mostly gonna be correct but a couple points where I differ. The main difference I have is I think they will keep more OL and less WR on the 53 man than you are showing. I view Schweitzer as a near-lock to make it due to the guarantees he got and his versatility as a backup. Think its also likelier than not that Turner makes it considering the Rodgers/Hackett connections.

Couple other differences:

- RB: I don’t think its a lock MC is still on the team by the start of the season though I think if he’s gone its via trade. So he’d be in bold green italics for me.

- WR: I believe they are done with Mims unless he blows everyone away in camp or JD insists on keeping him bc of draft position. I think Mims is on the wrong side of the bubble and Brownlee makes it over him.

- DL: Bryce Huff is basically a lock to be on the team IMO unless he’s traded (I would like to him see extended though!). Saleh has a love affair with Solomon Thomas so I think he’s likely to make the 53 unless he’s noticeably awful in camp.

- LB: I think Barnes probably makes it but wouldn’t say he’s a lock. Could see them keeping just 3 traditional LB and using Clark there.

- S: I think Tony Adams is basically a lock to make the 53. With their likely plans to use Clark at LB, I could see the Jets keeping 5 S. Outside of Brownlee, I think Trey Dean has the best shot of the UDFAs to crack the final roster.

Okay sure want to bet who puts up bigger numbers this year ,   M Mayer or Kunitz who might not make the Jets roster who doesn’t exactly have Te stud.

Taking an athletic freak like Kuntz was smart in the seventh ( how many of those guys make it) but he has a long way to go .    M Mayer has good chance to be rookie of the year in the nfl, kuntz just trying to make the Jets 53 man roster.   Big difference .  He went in the seventh round for a reason.

Yeah because tons of rookie TEs have won OROY.

Why are some saying S Thomas is a lock? He’s the 10th best DL on our team at best. Unless someone gets hurt, I think he gets cut.

His contract is nearly fully guaranteed. You don't give a one year, guaranteed contract to someone who's trying to make the team.

Because Saleh basically views him as an 8th child of his. He is 1 player who Bob will absolutely go to bat for during final roster cuts.

Who cares . M Mayer has a chance to be ORoy next year.    Going to be a bigtime weapon for the Raiders his rookie year. Jimmy G loves to feature the Te.

Who cares?  It takes TEs time to develop, that’s why it’s relevant.  Even star TEs don’t typically produce until year 2 or even 3.

Sure, Jimmy G loves feeding TEs.  When he’s healthy and when he had George friggin Kittle.

Like usual you’re out of your mind.

I was just listening to Moving the Chains on Sirius and they are doing their o-line grades.

Kirwan said the fewest amount of o-linemen on a 53 man roster last year was 7. The most was 9. The average was 8.

No way we are keeping 10 on the 53 after camp is said and done.

They may get to the Jets in the next hour

Agreed.  Several could end up on the PS but 8-9 make the 53.  On gamedays lots of teams only have 7 active guys:  1 swing tackle and 1 IOL on the bench.

Teams just have to have versatile OL on their squad and hope for the best.

The "main 8" ought to be enough:

76

Duane Brown

OT

6-4 329

Virginia Tech

77

Mekhi Becton

OT

6-7 350

Louisville

78

Laken Tomlinson

G

6-3 323

Duke

75

Alijah Vera-Tucker

G/T

6-5 308

USC

66

Joe Tippmann

C

6-6 317

Wisconsin

60

Connor McGovern

C

6-4 306

Missouri

67

Carter Warren

OT

6-5 323

Pittsburgh

61

Max Mitchell

OL

6-6 299

Louisiana

With as many as 4 of the others going to the PS.

For some reason, I expect Turner to make it because he offers OT/G versatility.

Maybe Warren ends up on PUP since he is recovering from knee surgery

I'd keep Billy Turner too.

That would definitely make sense as the 9th guy if JD doesn't think he can stash him on the PS.

The OL, you mean?  I actually think we really don't know the OL's ceiling because this group has been saddled with dogsh*t QBs to date.

A excerpt of Cameron Jordan’s thoughts on OL:

"In the NFL there's elite talent everywhere, so why do I care about their names? I can whoop whoever's at Tampa Bay 25 times, but you've got Tom Brady there throwing it at 2.2 seconds], you rarely get there. You can beat the hell out of whatever offensive lineman, tackle, that’s over at the Ravens, you got [Lamar [Jackson] handling business. I missed him twice, he ducked under, and my s--- was, I hit the turf, felt like I played myself. I got up and tried to chase after him like I was gon' get there, you're not.”
