Joe W. Namath
Both are JAGs. Amos is the better player but that is not saying much.
rangerous
They may both be jags but are still an upgrade from Joyner.

JoeNamathsFurCoat
Joe Barry got most of the blame as DC, but all I know is the Pack secondary got absolutely torched most of the year and this note from ZR isn’t exactly a positive: Throughout his career, Amos has been graded by Pro Football Focus as one of the best coverage safeties in the league, though he didn’t play as well in that area last year: PFF ranked him 71st of 74 safeties in pass coverage in 2022, allowing six touchdowns in coverage.

Packer fan on here (don’t know if it’s an alt or a real fan) says he’s cooked. Start looking for a bunch of young guy tryouts too. Hopefully they can find a good one
bitonti
Take all the stuff people are saying about Aaron Rodgers and 2022 being a down year replace Amos with Rodgers copy paste feels like the 2023 Jets lead the league in guys who were great 2 or 3 years ago

Jethead
Good job by JD. Price on Amos would have gone up like a store in a Mexican town when a cruise ship docks!

Particularly tough for a safety, who is almost always the "nearest defender" when sh*t goes wrong.

Based on the stats listed above, I don't see it. Targeted more often, much high QBR against. I know Clark is a great run stop safety. I don't know about Amos. They needed to make a move. Amos is a good pick-up, but Clarks proficiency against the TE was the big sell. Run defense and getting torched by the TE were weaknesses last year. Drums
They don't need to be Ed Reed-- they just need to be at least as good as Joyner last year and we're ok.
section314
Isn’t the 6th rd kid from LSU projected as a safety? Would think he’d would get a pretty good look.
JETS SB
Actually, Amos is more of a free safety than Clark and has been more of a ballhawk than the rest of the NYJ safety unit throughout his career. He has 10 interceptions and 48 passes defended. Not a crazy high amount, but better and more consistent than any other FS we have. Fits better to what we need. He isn’t an all pro, but we have a pretty good DB unit as well. Solid pickup for the price and the obvious need.
jNYC1
I don’t see a late round converted CB, undrafted rookie, or Ashtyn Davis playing better than a veteran with Amos’ resume. It’ll be interesting to watch in camp. Joyner sucked last year but was still deemed better than what we had on the bench (since cut Will Parks, A. Davis, and Tony Adams). The only name to watch would be Tony Adams.

Kinda makes me wonder how legit it would’ve been to have them both on the field at the same time.
