Good morning fellow Jets Fans

It is with sadness that wife and I are leaving our beloved NYC and moving to Conway South Carolina which is approximately 15-20 minutes away from Myrtle Beach in the next few weeks and I’d like to know if any of us Jets fans live in that area and if there are any bar restaurants that cater to us transplanted Jet Fanatics. Also if anyone who does live away from the NY metropolitan area can tell me what tv packages are offered so I can still watch The Jets on tv so far out of market

Get YouTube TV so that you can buy the NFL Sunday Ticket. We've been using YouTube TV since we moved from Palm Beach County Florida to North Raleigh, NC. We LOVE it here

The Crush Love crew will will be in Myrtle from 7/2-7/9 celebrating  my grandsons 2nd birthday. Been down every year minus a couple for about 25 years.

I’ve been up on Long Island for the past few weeks, but the word down there is that Umberto’s has ordered an extra 25 lbs of veal chops in anticipation of your arrival… 😜

So you're moving right next to Coastal Carolina!  Be sure to attend at least one football game there as well as several baseball home games.  They have beautiful facilities and good programs.

Welcome to the area. I’m assuming you’ll be up around the Carolina Forest area?

As far as viewing NY sports, I just switched from HTC cable to HTC Max. According to my neighbor, there’s a way to get out of market games. He gets every Steeler and Penguin game and promised to come over and show me how to get the Jets and Rangers before the season starts. I think you need to get the  Amazon Prime TV app but I’m not sure?

I also have a baseball package now that gets me all the MLB (Mets) games. I think that cost me $140.

I keep hearing about people who are “Escaping From New York” like the 1980’s Kurt Russel movie. We know several people who have moved to mainly 3 states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida.

My wife & I have talked about it too because NJ has the highest property taxes in the country. But all of our grandkids stew in grade school and live here in NJ too so that is why we haven’t moved.

I’m trapped too, with six grandkids in my LI town near us and my Real Estate investments here too, if not for that, I’d be in Florida/ Texas or anywhere else other than this horrible State.

Next game they are pushing , is ending single family zoning, almost passed this spring by Hochul, she isn’t stopping either, said she will get it done next year, they did it in Cal already and are trying to implement it here, it will destroy LI/ Westchester school systems  and therefore property values ,when they build multi- story resi in single family zoning areas and the schools are not equipped to handle the inflow of lower income families with multiple children.

Every town that has a railroad station will have to build this stuff by law within 1/2 mile of the station, must add 3% a year over three years .Adding 9% housing in small towns is massive amounts of problems and of course, it’s the illegals they want living there, so they can “reunify “ families.

I got the Sunday ticket last year and will again this year on Youtube TV.  I really prefer to watch the games at home.  Bigger screen, More comfortable furniture.  Can actually hear the announcers, and much easier to track injuries and what is going on.  Also, probably works out as cheaper when you factor in all the bar food and drinks you would pay for over the course of a season.

I'm wondering if the value is there if your interest is getting it for Jet games only. The Jets have a bunch of prime time games already and here in Northcentral PA, I 'll probably get 2 or 3 more when they don't conflict with the Steelers. So, how many games will I be getting for the $$?

single family zoning only is an insanely stupid policy.

Their hoops are pretty good also, and if he likes MIL baseball we have a Cubs A ball affiliate (the Pelicans) that plays here.

Congrats....my wife and I have discussed the same. We will probably wait until both boys are done with high school and then look but the area is unfortunately becoming unbearable to live in for a plethora of reasons.

We've been to South Carolina and I know a few people who left NYC to move there and all of them said the same thing..."never go back. Love it here."

It’s only the whole purpose of the suburbs lol. But it is a bit funny to see the nimbys get their due.

I live in the suburbs in a town that has corner stores, a few apartment buildings, some 2 or 3 family homes, single family homes all on the same block. variety is good. neighborhoods like that are some of most desirable  areas in the country to live. suburbs can be walk-able too. not some suburban hell scape like this:

No one here has acknowledged the soulless hellscape that is everything within 40 miles of Chicago : r/Suburbanhell

The poster was specifically talking about westchester and Long Island (which are desirable as you say ironically because of supply/demand) which that picture clearly isn’t. Paying 30k in property taxes to have the government put up another house in your backyard probably isn’t going to be overly popular. But nothing surprises me in Ny anymore.

I hope you like to play golf, because if you do, this will feel like you moved to Paradise. (Unless you “play” like @southparkcpa, in which case it can be like a living hell.) 😂

Congrats, I'm actually near there, but only for another month... Moving to VA because the Brunswick County builders are insane what they wanted to charge for building a house down here. Like the Raleigh area, prices have skyrocketed. We bought a house 25 minutes east of Richmond, so that my wife is near an airport while still in the country, and I'll only be about 40 minutes from the marina I will eventually put my new (used) boat.

You will find TONS of Jets fans in the MB area.  @Green Ghost lives in MB much of the year. You're gonna want to avoid him of course.

Also, make sure you avoid @Jetsfan80 in Raleigh lol... Actually you're far enough away that you won't have anything to worry about.  I wuv you 80...
