Lith
Called my mom yesterday before heading into Chicago to see the new theatre production of Tommy. She tends to call me almost every night, so I wanted to let her know I would not be home. The conversation went something like this. Me: Mom, we have theater tickets tonight, I won't be home later, so I decided to give you a call now. Mom: Oh, what are you going to see? Me: Tommy Mom: Bobby? Me: No mom, not Bobby. Tommy. Mom: Bobby & Tommy? I never heard of that. Me. No, mom. No Bobby. Just Tommy Mom: Who's Tommy? Me: Yes. Mom: Yes, what"? Me: The Who's Tommy Mom: I don't know. Me: What don't you know. Mom: I don't know who Tommy is. Me: Mom, that's the name of the show. Tommy. The Who's Tommy. Mom: Tommy? So who is Tommy? Me: The deaf, dumb and blind boy who sure plays a mean pinball. Show was great, by the way. Really well done. Music is awesome. Townshend updated the story so its a bit different from the original. At times I thought he tried to hard to fit existing songs to the revised story, but that was a minor complaint. 2 1

I try to talk to my folks often but it usually works out to more like once a week or so these days! And of course I know there will come a day all too soon where we can't talk at all. Gotta cherish those conversations.

Gotta cherish those conversations. When dad was alive, I used to talk to them once a week. But since he is gone, I like to check in with her just about every day.. Today's conversation was all about how she had no hot water in her apartment yesterday because they forgot to clean the dryer vents.
