Darrelle Revis- still a jerk, trashes Joe Klecko

Recommended Posts

Just a friendly reminder that Mevi$ ended his career as one of the biggest jokes in the NFL.

Considering how hard the Jets went in last year in being the ones trying to heal old wounds for the team and fans, clearly in preparation of knowing he'd be up for the hall, it takes a special level of mind-numbing stupidity for him to think any of this is an even slightly good idea.  This was his chance to re-market himself for any potential future return on his pro career, but he's doing his best to make sure no one will want to deal with him again the moment the induction ceremony is finished.

He just wanted the HOF weekend to be about him. What a piece of crap.

Why shouldn’t he want it to be about him?  He put in all the work you damn right he wants to be recognized it’s human nature.

Y’all probably were MJ fans and act like he wasn’t the same way.  It’s how killers are and Revis was a Killer in his prime.

He is the best player the Jets have had in 20+ years.

No one is denying that.  They’re just acknowledging that he comes off as a self-centered, me-first, diva.

Because it’s, quite literally, not all about him.

People loved watching MJ play basketball.  They, infamously, did not/do not love interacting with MJ the person.  See above (re: Revis) for the reasons why.  MJ and Revis are both retired.  They don’t play their respective sports professionally anymore.  There are zero reasons to act the way that they do nowadays.

Joe continues to come off as a gentleman and someone who is grateful to have his moment. I watched that whole interview and it was excellent. Joe just seems like a good dude. Said something NICE about Revis and Revis responds this way?

Side note, I like Jake Asmen a lot, and this will only get his channel more views. Should have thrown him in with Roberts to replace Carton on the fan.

Well, revis probably is the best jets defensive of all time, at the moment. But his remark is pretty silly. I don’t think you can compare players who play such different positions. And dbs are pretty much on their own. Not taking away from klecko but he had gastineau or lions playing next to him. They had some influence on his success.  We’ll see how revis holds up after sauce puts up four more seasons of stellar play.

Hard to argue that Revis wasn't the best defensive player the Jets every had.  He's probably the best player either side of the ball.   You would hope that after retiring he would have been rescued off the Island he created when he was a player.  He's a lot less charming than Gilligan and the Skipper.

Jesus, it was 2 good years and a ton of inflated reputation during the coaches press conferences to manufacture a low % of targets. It was great to watch, but it’s very overblown.

This is almost as dumb as Revis' comments.  Also "good" years lol.  Dude is probably responsible for the best single season by a CB ever in 2009.  That's a little better than a "good" year.  Hate the guy all you want - I certainly get it especially after sh*t like this, but no one can deny just how great he was on the field at his peak.

Im not even sure why he is a 1st ballot HOFer.  He a few great seasons, a few good seasons and a bunch of average seasons.  He didnt play at his peak long enough to be a 1st ballot HOFer.

He is 1st ballot in being the most disliked jet of all time.

Because he's peak while short was in the argument for the greatest every at his position and had a ridiculously positive impact on the Jets defense over all.

Outside of 09 and once he got healthy in 2010, I never felt like I was watching a transcendent player. Being an ahole isn’t helping his cause either.

Exactly.  Guys like Klecko and Namath are Jets legends.  I forgot about Revis until this HOF nonsense and once that is over, will forget about him again.  Revis is a forgettable Jet.
