..back to Cortland for training camp... someday ?

Recommended Posts

Cortland was a Rex request and since there's no one from his staff left
I'm wondering who is pushing this (Woody)?  Even though its 2+ hours
away it was the perfect setup/environment for camp.  I enjoyed it

How was it better than FP regarding setup? Better views of all positional groups working out or less crowded?

When they were last in Cortland the space to move around as a fan to
see any of the positions was incredible.  Also, you were close enough
to hear the coaches speak.  Finally the town had a rural 1960's vibe
and it was cool to get away from the "big city" for a week

I really enjoyed it there. Got an autograph from LT. I also took some hair samples for safe keeping.

You could clearly hear every f bomb that Mike Westoff fired out.

Being an hour and twenty from Cortland I took my toddler to Cortland and spent almost the whole time at the kids area... Hope they do it as it would be nice to go and watch some football this time!.

Remember at the time I used to call my daughter Little Snacks, told her we were going to see Big Snacks and Rex. Still have the youth size Jets hat from that day...Man the time goes by fast!

I'm thinking the league push for Hard Knocks brought up Cortland.  Hope there's more to it

And just read this maybe related article on ClutchPoints by Tim Capurso . Think a Cortland re-do would maybe add to the storyline as they had fun with it last time.

Here's what Packers President Mark Murphy wrote in response to a fan question, per the Packers website.

“The best thing to do if you don't want to be on “Hard Knocks” is to make the playoffs every year. The league (and HBO) can only require a team to appear on “Hard Knocks” if they have failed to make the playoffs two years in a row. I'm anxious to see the Jets and the many ex-Packers on “Hard Knocks” this summer – should be very entertaining.”

While many liked Cortlandt, i actually thought it wasnt practical.  The first 2 weeks...ok, they get away old school style and bond.  But once the first preseason game comes up, commuting 3-31/2 hours back to Florham Park a day early  for a game and then back another 3-3.5 hours the next day was not the best use of camp time.  While many may say the day after game is typically a day off anyway...i can think of a lot more productive things they could be doing at Atlantic Health (training room rehab, weight room, NFL weight room etc) than loading up the car or getting on the bus for a long ride.

The downfall of the FP facility is it really is pretty lousy viewing for practice and always got the feeling that the team/organization wish they didnt have to even be bothered opening practice and dealing with the fans who come there
