The Denver kickoff that got held up by the wind and Denver recovered is when I knew it was over.

The Jacksonville win at home was probably the high point of being a jets fan for me.

That KO was the killer for me too.  Ball stopped and seemed to go backwards fueling the Broncos comeback.

That season was and still remains the only year. That I was as confident in our Offense. That I have ever felt. I wasn’t waiting for an interception to happen. It just seemed that that year was the only time I wasn’t waiting for the other shoe to drop………well until it did…………….and in that 2 nd half of that Championship game is when my normal feelings for this team crept back in. It felt like well..the JETS. Lets hope we have that kind of year with the window that we are in right NOW. And finish the deal!!!!!

Okay, 1998 was a pretty exciting season but who can forget Vinny running it in but the refs failing to note that he was down around the two yard line. I think it was against Seattle.

Yes it was, I was at the game. Looked like he was in from where I was sitting, lol

12-4, 1st round bye and won a playoff game. I tell my son all the time: Jets started 0-2 that year, which means they went 13-2 after that! Never seen that from a Jets team. EVER. ‘09 and ‘10 were great and all but not even close to that ‘98 season.

I'm not sure any team that started 0-2 and then went 13-2 after that ever finished 12 -4.

I think that was the only break we ever got that won a game. We have been on the wrong side of those forever.

That comeback was from that long pass McCaffery caught. I read that McCaffery actually lined up on the wrong side and had to run the post instead of the other WR who I can't  remember his name. Jets just blew that defense.

The Kickoff was the knockout blow.....but the play that really set them up for failure was the Broncos first play from scrimmage after we took a 10-0 lead....Elway hit McCaffery on a bomb in which V. Green blew the coverage....

Injuries crippled that team...

As I recall O’Brien had a sore arm. But that team had so many good veteran players they should’ve been able to squeak out a couple more wins. It didn’t speak too well of Walton and his coaches.

IIRC their OL was decimated..I think they had to move Sweeney out to LT?

I was sitting in the 13th row in the end zone and I knew Vinny didn't make it. It wasn't even close.

Given how our 97 ended because of a horrendous call vs Detroit, I thought we were owed a blown call like that one.

Best season I have ever seen.  What a magical run.  That team was loaded and would have won the Super Bowl the following year if it wasnt for jimmy hoffa.

I was in a bar in Myrtle Beach when the 49ers beat us week 1 on a game ending play and I just thought nothing of it. Same Ole Jets I said to myself. Can't close.  Who knew what a magical season it would be. Vinny, CM, Wayne. Great fun.

keith byers played between 1986 and 1998...he had 2 career fumbles

curtis martin could have fallen forwards 13 times and gotten more then 14 yards

thats all i am going to say about that.

Greg Norman.    Those who in the big spot come up short but have great regular day stats.

After that AFC Championship, I resolved to never let the Jets disappoint me again. And they haven’t via the power of low expectations.

Impossible not to get your hopes up when the jets go into Indy and are whooping their ass for a half....but yeah...typically ends the same way.

Garrison Hearst, 96 yard TD in OT.
First game in our “new” “old” all white uniforms.

Glenn Foley threw for over 400 yards that day.  Keyshawn was the 2nd best receiver in the league only behind randy moss.  What a team that was.

Beating the Pats in the playoffs on the road was pretty dope. I was in Vegas for a bachelor party. Jets up 14-3 at the half. Convinced the whole party to parlay that the Pats would score more points in 2nd half but Jets would win — the odds were awesome — Pats were still favored. We made a killing. Paid for the entire trip and then some.
