Joe W. Namath
Best season I have ever seen. What a magical run. That team was loaded and would have won the Super Bowl the following year if it wasnt for jimmy hoffa.
Legend Killa7
12-4, 1st round bye and won a playoff game. I tell my son all the time: Jets started 0-2 that year, which means they went 13-2 after that! Never seen that from a Jets team. EVER. ‘09 and ‘10 were great and all but not even close to that ‘98 season. 2
Popular Post k-met57
keith byers played between 1986 and 1998...he had 2 career fumbles curtis martin could have fallen forwards 13 times and gotten more then 14 yards thats all i am going to say about that. 5 1
Popular Post rangerous
Okay, 1998 was a pretty exciting season but who can forget Vinny running it in but the refs failing to note that he was down around the two yard line. I think it was against Seattle. 5
Popular Post Larz
The Denver kickoff that got held up by the wind and Denver recovered is when I knew it was over. The Jacksonville win at home was probably the high point of being a jets fan for me.

Jets0712
That season was and still remains the only year. That I was as confident in our Offense. That I have ever felt. I wasn’t waiting for an interception to happen. It just seemed that that year was the only time I wasn’t waiting for the other shoe to drop………well until it did…………….and in that 2 nd half of that Championship game is when my normal feelings for this team crept back in. It felt like well..the JETS. Lets hope we have that kind of year with the window that we are in right NOW. And finish the deal!!!!!Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

DoubleDown
Magical season. If the Jets manage to keep their lead against Denver in the AFC Championship Game, they would have won the Superbowl.
Bless you....Thank you
1998 was awesome because of the long playoff drought before that. Anyone born after the mid 70s never got to see the team in the playoffs. Extra sweet

Joe W. Namath
That is the 2nd best team in franchise history after the 69 team. 1998 Jets had it all. Damn you hoffa!!!

That comeback was from that long pass McCaffery caught. I read that McCaffery actually lined up on the wrong side and had to run the post instead of the other WR who I can't remember his name. Jets just blew that defense.

greasyt
The Kickoff was the knockout blow.....but the play that really set them up for failure was the Broncos first play from scrimmage after we took a 10-0 lead....Elway hit McCaffery on a bomb in which V. Green blew the coverage.... 1

Given how our 97 ended because of a horrendous call vs Detroit, I thought we were owed a blown call like that one.

Jets up 14-3 at the half. Convinced the whole party to parlay that the Pats would score more points in 2nd half but Jets would win — the odds were awesome — Pats were still favored. We made a killing. Paid for the entire trip and then some.
