Sky Bayless: Rodgers is the most overrated player in sports

Rodgers is top 5 all time. In no particularly order: Brady, Montana, Manning, Mahomes, Rodgers

Could you imagine Brady in Montanas Era?  I do think Rodgers could have played in that Era at a similar level, Manning, not so sure (he is pretty soft imo)  Mahomes?  His style of play?  IDK.

I didn’t listen but the guy hasn’t gotten it done in the playoffs but one time. Like it or not, the GOAT conversations include post season success and rings. Rodgers has one, very early in his career. He’s only played in one Super Bowl.  Rodgers is a great regular season QB but he’s not done enough in the post season. Hopefully he can get into the top 5 all time status with a New York jets Super Bowl ring. As of right now though, calling him over rated isn’t that far of a stretch.

Most overrated?  No.

Overrated?  Yes.

1 superbowl win despite being on many loaded teams.  That being 12 years ago.

7-9 record in his last 16 playoff games

The biggest issue with him is that he gets all the credit when things go well, mvps and such and none of the blame when things do not go well, it is always the coach or the gm or the players of that heinous fact that green bay picked a QB in the draft.

Still the best potential QB the jets have had in forever but make no mistake if the jets win it will be all becasue of rodgers and if they lose it will be someone elses fault.

I don't really ever listen to him but I watched part of this video. He's obviously trying to create controversy saying something stupid to get people riled up. That's his schtick. I'm not a Rodgers fan but Bayless negates 4 MVPs and criticizes Rodgers footwork. Like he knows something about that and more than a HOF Qb. Look the Jets are in a good place now with Rodgers even if it doesn't work out it was a great signing.

Manning would have said the same thing before he got to Denver

Sent from the NY Jets /Zack Wilson Suicide Watch desk.

He’s not top five a Rodgers  winning one Super Bowl.     He’s hall of fame Qb no doubt about it , but top five is ridiculous statement .

He wins one with the Green & White and he undisputedly advances to the head of the class.

The forum is straight up unreadable in June and July. Max should euthanize JN until training camp starts.

Add in February, March, April, May, and August and we agree

give me games every week or give me death by 1,000 trolls

I don’t mind February, March, April as it’s combine/free agency/draft season which is usually our Super Bowl. May through July are grim though.

Which team was loaded?  Which team had more talent than this Jets team?  This team has a lot more talent than the Packers team that he won the SB with.
He doesn’t get blame for the Packers team that didn’t end well because it would be dumb to blame him for it.

Skip loves everything Dallas and hates NY, not shocked.
Skip critical of Rodgers footwork was especially enlightening.
Next up Mahomes footwork being all over the place.

Somehow seasons that lead to a 3 year stretch that ends with numbers like this don’t say overrated or he should take the blame for the Packers falling short.  Or footwork issues.

I could just as easily argue it’s the Packers that have been overrated.

Winning just 1 ring and losing relatively early in the playoffs year after year is an org thing as much as or even more than a QB thing.  Similar to Peyton Manning’s playoff record.  Neither QB was without blemishes in the playoffs but when you’re talking about the best teams making it deep into the postseason, something has to set you apart beyond JUST having an elite QB to win multiple rings, and those orgs never could.

Pinning that all on Rodgers is a suspect argument.   Especially coming from a poster who defended the play of Zach Wilson for “not turning the ball over” but now turns around and calls Rodgers overrated even though one of things he did best was avoid INTs while still throwing lots of TDs in his time in GB.  Like….cmon dude.
