Jets Cornerback Sauce Gardner Ripped by Former Patriots DB Asante Samuel

He may have thought today was going to be just like any other offseason Tuesday, but instead Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner was ripped via social media by former Patriots DB Asante Samuel.

It all started when Samuel took exception to Gardner earning praise from his peers in being named the number two cornerback in the NFL.  The former Patriots and Eagles DB suggested Gardner’s recognition came as a result of playing in the New York market.

Not satisfied with just one ridiculous take, Samuel went after former Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, calling the first-ballot Hall of Famer overrated in saying Revis was never that good.

It’s the NY media what did Revis do so special. I’ll wait… It’s documented want great cornerbacks did in the stats

I think Gardener getting knocked down a peg or two will only help. He is getting the NY media treatment along having a catchy nickname. He did a lot of damage against 3rd stringers last season. He’s not Surtain yet. The rookie on Seattle was probably better considering he generated turnovers. Overall, I thought Garrett Wilson and Hall before injury were the better rookies.

For whatever reason Sauce is getting a lot of hate on Twitter recently. We all saw how dominant he was last year. I think all this Twitter hate is only going to fuel him into a different stratosphere next season. Oh how much I’d love to see a pick 6 on Josh Allen week 1 in front of the whole country

Revis wasn't a first ballot hall of famer on that last game in Buffalo with Fitzmagic...already had 10 wins, just needed one more to make the playoffs. Revis couldn't stop a nosebleed and gave up 12 consecutive first downs. He was the worst player on the field that day for either team. Our D led by Revis just couldn't get off the field. needless to say, we lost that game, didn't make the playoffs, and Fitz went Adios jets fans, it's been fun.

Hes not Surtain yet?
His first season was better than Surtains rookie season by a wide margin

Regardless, the cheater should STFU

And Belichick still is a scumbag

This is good if you ask me. I think Sauce is a guy that will always be motivated to be the best... but this can only help push him.

Let's also talk about Asante Samuel and how his opinion means nothing. If this was Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, Richard Sherman or someone like that calling him out... it would have some validity. But Samuel was barely even good.

This may win the weekly "most idiotic response of the week" award. More passes defended, more tackles, more assists, but let's focus on interceptions. And while we're at it, let's not even spell the guy's name correctly. Good job. You get a cookie.

Wasn't that Revis' reply?  A Boston Radio personality shared Revis' tweet about Assante.  I was did not know about his Sauce comment's.  With Revis' tweet adding context I do now.
