Who Makes the Team? Wide Receiver and Offensive Line Edition

IMHO, WR and OL are the groups where it is easiest to guess the players who will be on the Jets opening day 53 man roster.

What do you think?

6 WRs (Brownlee as the 6th)

9 OL (Cajuste as the 9th)

I have Schweitzer missing out because McGovern can cover all 3 IOL positions just fine.  Thus carrying 4 IOL on the active 53 is plenty for me.  Went with Cajuste as the 9th guy because obviously OT is the big concern and we need as much quality depth there as possible.  Billy Turner vs Cajuste is splitting hairs if that's your preference but I do see us carrying one of them.

It wouldn't particularly surprise me if we ONLY carry 8 OL and put a bunch on the PS though.  Me personally though I'm not comfortable with JUST Brown, Becton, Mitchell and Warren as my OTs even though AVT can handle RT duties.

Obviously much of this bottom of the roster speculation could easily get thrown out of the window after Aug 29 cutdown day when we see who shakes loose and if we make any "surprising" cuts (like Davis).  But there's a long way to go until then, so...

With both Hardman and Cobb making the team, it’ll be a battle of the big guys to be the sixth WR (the most I see them carrying), imho. So Brownlee, Charles, and Kapp (maybe Taylor?) all eyeing one spot. I gave it to Charles, but it’s up in the air.

I think Cobb will be a surprise cut.  I think Rodgers already likes Brownleee andI see Irvin Charles making it as well.

I would be happy to bet you good money on this!  No way will the Jets only carry 8 OL.  10 is the most likely, but 9 at the very least.

The final 47 will absolutely, definitely, with no doubt have more than 8 OL on it!  

Just remember, if you did carry only 8, Duane Brown, Becton and Max Mitchell would be 3 of the 8 on the roster.  That means, that you would be making a huge gamble that these 3 guys will be healthy for the entire year.  It would be absolutely dumb to carry only 8.  And to continue, Warren, a rookie, would be one of the remaining 5 if those 3 guys got hurt or went on IR for any reason.  

Plus, Do me a favor, will you?  Please look back on the last decade (10 years), and tell me when the Jets ever went into the regular season with only 8 offensive linemen as part of the 47.  I haven't looked, but I will tell you, it's never happened!  To do it this year, would be even worse with the recent injury past of the last couple of years.

My #5 & #6 are Charles & Gipson

 I think that a quick jitterbug like Gipson would be more valuable over Brownlee, with PR ability.

Charles has been with PS a couple of seasons and has good size and speed to take Mims spot and plays ST
