Star running backs discussed the idea of malingering

One of the major reasons you are not getting paid is due to injuries.  Fake injuries are not going to help you.

One thing for sure the Rb group should lobby for is at least equal protection by the refs.   It is totally ridiculous how after a guy is stopped he will keep gettig hit, smashed and thrown to the ground well after a whistle.  Things that would instantly get a penalty if it was a Qb or a defenseless WR.

Btw if you want an example of a star RB that stayed healthy and got extended to 6 years, look at Chubb.

They could have had internal discussions about a form of retaliation. This story will continue to develop.

Are you old enough to remember Barry Sanders ? That would explain the 'bring the man down' mentality. I for one would prefer that to blowing the whistle early while the RB is still fighting.

I loved Barry Sanders, the best. He is probably on of the very few players outside of the Jets that I actually liked.

Chubb: There’s really nothing we can do,” he said Sunday following practice. “We’re kind of handcuffed with the situation. Our production hurts us the most. If we go out there and run for 2,000 yards with so many carries, the next year they’re going to say you’re probably worn down.

“That’s the biggest thing that I took from it (the call). It’s just tough. It hurts us just to go out there and do good. It hurts us at the end of the day.”

Kinda crazy that’s the only position where a lot of success is then looked at as a negative like he mentioned. Sucks.

Yup. Can’t get the max dollars unless you put up numbers. Derek Henry is on year 7 and his contract is bleak.

As with all things, there is a happy medium, a balance.

Sorry but i say f them. Just take what the market says. Pretty sure if it was about kickers not getting paid the rbs would care less about them. All position in football get paid accordingly. I feel bad for them the lower paid ones but it is what it is.

Agreed.  The fact is.... you can win WITHOUT the high top paid 'Lamborghini ' running back.  Hence why teams are CHOOSING not to pay the premium.    It's really a simple concept

Also the Giants signing Robinson is all you need to know about how teams think about this. There are 3 guys that think 11 million isn’t enough and 100 that would play for 2 million

I don't understand the signing of Robinson by the Giants.  He was ineffective for the Jets, and they ultimately made him sit it out.  The Jets gave a 6th round pick that was conditional to move up to a 5th round pick, but thankfully, the Jets never let him grind away to make it a 5th round pick.

Not only could Robinson not come close to replacing Barkley, I don't see him making the 47 man roster for the Giants. If he was any good, he would have beaten out Bam for  a spot.

Barkely, IMHO, is the best offensive weapon that the Giants have.  I don't see the Giants making the playoffs this year with him.

Mimsy has a better shot in Detroit than Robinson with the Giants.

Nothing changes the 5/7 reality.  They fall off a cliff after 5 years and are out of the league in 7.  The point is that the giants are planning on playing without him. They would welcome him back but the offer is what it is. Just like the Steelers and Bell.

100%.  Mims has the ability, and he has the talent.  Robinson is done!  Toast!  If he makes the Giants, he will be sitting on the pine by week #3.

He can sign the tag anytime.

I think that is what will happen, after the first game.  He will punish the team by not having him for week #1, and not having a significant role in week #2.
