Rodgers Confirms Re-Structured Deal; Declines to Offer Specifics

It took more than 3 months to get it done, but Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets have worked out a new structure on the quarterback’s eye watering mega contract.  The re-structure was confirmed today after pro football talk reported the news yesterday.  However, the Rodgers declined to offer any specifics about the deal.

Aaron Rodgers confirmed a report that he has agreed to a re-worked contract (PFT first). He declined to give specifics. #jets

Due a whopping $107 million next season alone, the Jets were always going to have to re-work the deal to move some money around.  At the time of the trade it was reported that details of the extension would be known upon completion of the deal.  In the end, it took 93 days.

Joe Douglas, with a smile, says there have been "positive" discussions with Aaron Rodgers' representation about a reworked contract.

The new contract will undoubtedly include multiple void years as the Jets look to spread out the enormous cap figure with the Jets hoping Rodgers hangs around for more than a season or two.

Self proclaimed. Lol. That’s funny since I am a former colleague of a JN mod’s wife in an actual, international law firm—not as good as your credentials as an internet contract savant and blowhard, I know, but it’s something. I’ll leave it to him if he chooses to verify this but respecting his privacy I won’t mention who that is. As far as weak plays go, you have set a new low bar (forgive the lawyer pun, sometimes we can’t help ourselves).

No need to get verified.  I hate to cross streams but 1st Mafia game it was obvious you were amazing at research and rules.

Much like the accusations that people are “fake Jets fans,” who the hell would pretend to be a ******* lawyer? If I was going to make something up I’d go with astronaut, secret agent, or unicorn.

It is ironic because you are the lawyer and you cant have any meaningful discussion.
