I really can't stand the Steelers.  It feels like they almost always get the better of us, both on and off the field.

its not the Steelers fault. its July 31st, we had plenty of time to sign him if we really wanted him.

I am not as worried about Kwon going to Pitt as I am that johnathan marshall turns out good and the real big worry for me is that Broderick Jones becomes a stud LT.

The Rodgers trade was made and there were repercussions.

A franchise QB is what we needed & what we got. My biggest worry is that Wilburt becomes another in a long list of blown #1 picks.

  • The Steelers (and Ravens, and even Packers) have always in my view been teams that really outdrafted and outsigned other teams.  I think it is a very positive sign for the Jets organizationally that they were intersecting this often with the Steelers-losing players to them, competing for the same players, etc.  I think it shows we are really improving.
  • I think JD can overthink it, and Kwon could have been an insurance policy for a team wanting a run.  Maybe JD thinks that this is a year early to spend too much money on Kwon.  I hope it does not backfire.
  • Based on what I read, I would have found a way to draft Broderick Thomas and not Will McDonald.  I hope I am wrong.

The same people that said the jets had all the leverage, the packers had zero leverage and should be lucky to get like a 3rd rounder suddenly no longer care about the price we paid to get him.

I was one of the “Jets Leverage” guys. Having AR in camp for the last 8 weeks or so, well worth it. We’d still be waiting on GB if we gave them the ultimatum. I was wrong.

Bummer.  I thought Kwon played well in this system.  Hopefully this is a sign that some of the younger players the Jets have invested in the past couple of years are ready to step up.  This is how good teams are built.  Not overpaying vets, having a steady pipeline of developing players.

This is absolutely their thought process.  Whether or not Sherwood or any of the other LBs prove them right remains to be seen, but they clearly have high hopes for at least one of these kids.  The positive reviews so far on Barnes have also been encouraging.
