JohnnyLV
OK Saleh would never do this, but I was thinking. Rodgers is very good at changing plays and routes at the LOS, adjusting routes, ETC.... What if we went no huddle and just let him call all the plays. Wouldn't have to be 100% of the time, but I think with our flexibility of WR and TE and even Bawden at FB we could lock the defense into base or whatever defense we wanted and then just let Aaron run with it. I am sure much of the 2 min drills are just him calling plays anyway. Might be a good way to handle our offense.
bitonti
i think that's what's going to happen more or less Hackett is notoriously bad at play calling and the offense had one of his signature "delay of game" penalties when Boyle entered the game

I think they'll do this in both situational Football but also vs. defensive groups they want to keep on the field. Rodgers talks a lot about his hand signals and changing plays at the LOS as well, so I expect to see a ton of this, especially once him and. G.Wil are clicking on all cylinders.

Why not just call a play and let him audible at the LOS if he thinks it's warranted?
Jack Straw
Aaron Rodgers is the defacto head coach at this point, so if he wants to run no-huddle they'll be running no-huddle.

They'll generally huddle, but if you think AR isn't in control of the offense I don't know what to tell you. AR will be allowed to do whatever he wants, and Hackett is simply AR's rubber stamp regardless of any coaching he performs. AR will be allowed to audible unlike our previously never ending string of rookie/2nd year QBs in over their head.

slimjasi
He's basically calling the plays, anyway. The GOAT/Alpha NFL QBs tend to do what they want to do.

The OCs play call is really not much more than a suggestion.

JohnnyLV
I realize he can audible but my thought was just to just let him call the game not adjust to what's coming from the sideline. IMO one of the dumbest things any OC can do (such as the useless MLF) is forcing the QB to run the called play. I would rather the QB adjust and make a mistake then knowingly running a play where he knows it is the wrong play for the defensive alignment
Maxman
The normal offensive coordinator question is booth or sideline. The question this year is if Hackett will be working remotely on game day or off completely?

I have often wondered why the jets don’t seem to run a hurry up or not play the two minute drill very effectively. I think we may see Rodgers given the freedom to do that.
