This is a weird year. Personally I think we have the most stacked rb room in the league. Still, the jets are looking at cook and others and the fans here seem to think it is the right thing to do considering our #1 is still rehabbing. REALLY? We are stacked! If we JUST had carter or JUST had Izzy or JUST had Bam, ok but we have all three so why waste resources on a POS like cook

They are not looking at Cook.  Dog and pony show.

Izzy looks great.  But I do not think he will play much this year unless there is an injury.  Hes got 3 good backs in front of him.

1 year in an nfl strength and conditioning program and to learn the pass blocking concepts, he will be ready to be RB1b next year.

2024 - Breece/Izzy = Bo Jackson/Marcus Allen

Maybe they were kicking tires. Given our OL and LB situation, hard to seriously consider another RB.

Izzy will pass up Carter and knight on the depth chart fairly quickly. Both of those guys are  nothing more than decent jags

I thought Deuce Vaughn was more impressive this week but glad to see Izzy playing well. Zero need for a washed up veteran RB on this team @Bobby816

I've all along have said Izzy is our 2nd best RB on this team. But if you think he's getting Halls touches until he's healthy against good teams those 1st few weeks... you're kidding yourself.

No one talks about how we barely used Hall until Week 4 last season. He had 6 carries week 1, 7 carries week 2, 8 carries week 3. He did catch the ball 13 times in those 3 weeks too. But that means he averaged only 11 touches a game in those 1st 3 weeks. Izzy isn't nearly as useful in the passing game, so I don't expect him to get the receptions Hal would. We just aren't rolling out there giving Izzy 15 touches to start the season. If  we would. I wouldn't be saying we need a vet RB. But we wont. And Carter and Knight just don't run the ball effectively enough for me to think we can beat BUF, DAL, KC, etc early on.

13 catches and low carries were in no small part because LaFleur had Flacco dropping back to pass 50-60x per game those first 3 weeks.

Because we didn't trust our rookie RB yet.

Carter had 28 carries in those games and 13 catches as well.

So he had 7 more rushes and the same amount of catches as Hall in those 1st 3 weeks.

He didn't merely fail to hand it off to Hall; he barely handed it off to anyone with the D putting the team into holes. You'd think with them only looking meh he'd want to give the D a breather by running it. ffs Carter got 6 ypc that first week and they still only ran him 10x.

Hall's somewhat limited use early in 2022 was not because the CS did not trust him, but because Carter had such a good rookie season in 2021.  Carter did not become a bad player last season. By mid-season, he was injured, the OL was decimated, and the QB situation was a mess.  That's it.  Carter is fully able to carry the load if Hall is unable to go early in 23.  No need for a veteran.  And Abanikanda can take quality touches as well.
