Anybody catch Stetson Bennett highlights?

I thought he was a good prospect to take a flier on in the mid to late rounds.  he played pretty damn well at Georgia. Especially when you consider that he was a walk on.

The downside was his height and his age which is 25 or 26?

I would have taken Stetson in the 4th or 5th. 

He'd be better than Zach day one and could be a good long term backup.

Thing is with his age, under today's rules and how QBs are protected he could play 12-14 years.

Didn't expect him to go as early as he did, and even if we were open to taking a QB in the 4th instead of Warren, I'd be lying if I said I would have taken Bennett over McKee.  End of the day I'm happy with all of our picks.  Even liked the Barnes pick at the time.  Only one I would have been fine with taking a QB over was Converse in the 6th.  Only guy I remember being available by then though was Duggan out of TCU.  

 

That said I hope Bennett proves to be legit.  I would love for him to become another example of how you can find franchise QBs on day 3.  I'm hoping we take a flier on one next year, whether it's round 2, 3, or 4.  IMO we'll need to get another kid in here to learn under Rodgers before he's gone.  I still believe in Zach being able to turn it around, but I just don't see how the timeline will line up with him ever getting another opportunity here.

Despite being on a stacked team Bennett made all he big plays when he had to at Georgia for their two Nattys.

He then backed it up by looking very good at the combine when compared to other 'top end ' QBs

The guys a winner and good enough athletically to have a shot in this league.

Dude will be 26 years old 1/2 way into the season. Crazy. Zach is pretty much 2 full years younger than him and is in his 3rd year.

Given how much time he had in college to develop there's certainly potential there. If he emerges as a franchise QB it is not a huge deal that the team might get 10-12 years instead of 12-14 out of him.
