EM31
Shocker - He is ready for a cameo in the last preseason game. Not worried about Duane Brown per se, just about the amount of tread left on his tires

Popular Post FidelioJet
Starting to get the sense this was just a nice way to allow Brown to skip camp. There's still 3 full weeks before the first game - plenty of time for a vet right Brown to get ready. I hope! 16

DoubleDown
Hoping for the best. He's at an age where the level of play can drop off a cliff at any time. And coming off an injury is not ideal. 1

chirorob
It's just health with this team. If the big dogs stay healthy, this team can be a dominant offense, running and passing. Rodgers play action off a real running threat of Breece and Cook could be a thing of beauty. Hell, just running behind AVT and Becton could be a thing of beauty
Joe W. Namath
Brown is an ok pass blocker and bad run blocker. #1 priority this upcoming offseason is LT. Unless becton has a great year and can move over there.

Lol, despite generally pushing back against the First Church of the Holy Offensive Line around here, I do have my own concerns about the group. I hope the optimistic takes on Brown prove to be true. I’ll feel pretty good about him on the left and Becton on the right. The sort of comments you don’t hear from @bitonti anymore are how a CB can never impact a football game the way a LT can, or why Ekwonu was the choice over Sauce. 3
C Mart
Dianna Russini @DMRussini The Jets are hoping to get LT Duane Brown back this week. The veteran is undergoing tests today and if cleared, he’ll be removed from the PUP list, per team sources. The Jets should know more tomorrow.

Some of our biggest runs last year came from the left side with Duane Brown at 37 years old and a torn rotator cuff running 20+ yards downfield and flattening dudes.
T0mShane
I think they were just holding Brown out to save some tread on the tires. I’m still more concerned/curious about Becton on the right side, and I’m guessing that Douglas still ends up making a play for a tackle at some point.

It took me over a year to get back to some sense of normalcy with my right arm, which is my dominant arm. He's not that much younger than I was, but obviously is a professional athlete and in much better shape than I've ever been in, and he also has the advantage of a professional training staff and room, plenty of money, and availability of Drs. and specialized treatment that I didn't have access to. Still, he tore both rotator cuffs, I don't know how he has managed. I at least could use my left arm to do a lot of things.

With a run-blocking grade of 44.4, PFF ranked Brown as the second-worst run-blocking left tackle in the league among the 31 players to log at least 500 snaps at left tackle. PFF had McDonald rated as one of our worst overall players against Carolina despite him making OL look silly left and right. No one understands their grading system and they never would’ve achieved this level of relevance if Chris Collinsworth didn’t own them.

I know this is a problem league wide, but good grief Douglas needs help in scouting Oline. Does Warren even make the 53? I think the plan was to move on from Becton but now they’re in desperation mode for bodies. Tucker probably will have to start at RT out of necessity. 1

KRL
Brown played with one shoulder last year, run blocking is more physical than pass blocking. Therefore it's not shocking his PFF grade (which I don't believe in) would be poor, it's hard to be physical with one shoulder 2
