What would your level of optimism be if Sam Darnold were our QB?

If Sam were our QB I'd feel much better about our chances.  Yes he's a volatile guy who looks good one week then bad then next.  But right now I have a lot more faith in him than I do in ZW (though I am still hoping against hope Zach can still be "the guy").

I was looking forward to the Rogers experience and not doing Zach Wilson discussions for a year or two.

I think Zach can be amazing.  Darnold is more meh.

The Cowboys killed the Giants and D Jones last week.  I’m looking forward to this game.   I hope they run enough and then get the play action going.  This OLine could kill 3-4 more QBs this season so I think they will not do many long plays unfortunately.

I think he’s better than Wilson now, but I don’t think he’d be the best fit here (even forgetting about his Jets baggage).

Darnold is more prone to interceptions than Wilson (3.1% career interception percentage vs 2.9 for Zach), which I think is a bad fit for a team trying to win with defense and a strong running game.

You probably have to win the turnover battle to win the way the jets will need to win this year.

I wouldn’t be much more confident with Darnold, if at all. Also, FWIW, I think Zach has a higher ceiling than Sam

With either Zack or Sam, team will be lucky to get in playoffs and we will lose in wild card round.  End result is the same

Good God I hope you're wrong with every ounce of my being.

Went from thinking week 1 bye in playoffs was possible and drooling to beat bellicheat twice

To

Praying we make a playoff spot and dreading the thought of the rats either time

All in 4 plays! This sucks!!!!!!!

What’s with this crap lately where OP’s want to decide who and how people can respond to their threads?

Difference is Sam’s is soft. He straight up quit the last half of his season here. Zack? Not saying his better QB because he sorta isn’t, but kids got balls of steel, almost to a fault. Got a littie mean  streak. After Milano’s int, awful decision, Zach got pissed and just dropped him. Personally I respect that. Sam’s boogie boarding Cali puswa! Is he still slightly better? Not sure, they both folded after stud running backs went down. Maybe slightly?, don’t  care, if I had to pick rather see Zach go out and lose and take his lumps, than Darnold looking like he just saw a ghost.

i would be optimistic if darnold was the qb so long as he was in some version of the joe bugel offense.

Didn't Sam win 2 of his final 3 games as a Jet?  (The ones that destroyed the franchise)

the difference between 3.1 and 2.9 is like 1 interception a year - assuming 30 passes a game.
