Duane Brown DNP Again?

Recommended Posts

One of these threads before the season I argued that it wasn't a good idea to rely on a 38 year old injured LT and Becton might be the better candidate to start there and I was chastised for it.

We're going to be seeing alot more of this over the next few weeks.

You are a 40 year old LT who had a great career and shot shoulders.  Maybe you want to pick up grand kids.

So you are supposed to suit up every week and bang heads against the likes of Parsons, Judon, the Bosas, etc., to protect Zach Wilson, and not Aaron Rodgers?

At this point Duane Brown should do the right thing and retire.  Otherwise the Jets staff of Voodoo Doctors should be pushing him every week to play.

I am at 5 wins this season.

Becton to LT, AVT to RT, and Tippman to LG makes too much sense. Keeping Becton at RT and moving AVT to LT would even work just fine.

This should be the line up even if Brown isn't hurt. He's either not ready condition-wise after having no training camp or he really has just mailed it in post-Rodgers injury.

Our OL is a complete mess.  Has been since the offseason and before.  I am tired of this being the same storyline for this team for longer than I care to remember.  JD (and the previous GM's) have done nothing to fix this ongoing issue with the team.

Tippman is a center.  We have one of the worst centers in the league.

Jets fans: move tippy to guard.

Jet fans..............................

You're the one who has been singing the praises of JD. It was malpractice to go into the season with a rehabbing 38 year old LT, and a RT, who's hardly played the last two years. That along with the Zack Wilson draft should have been enough to get him fired

As soon as Rodgers got hurt, Billy Turner should have been cut before Zach’s first snap. There’s no reason for him to be here if he’s not part of the AR superfriends daisy chain.

Fun fact!  Sad to say but Turner may actually be a  better lineman than Brown or Tomlinson. .

Do we have any faith in max Mitchell?

No. He looked awful in preseason.

Best OL we can put out out there is currently

OT: Becton, AVT

iOL: Schweitzer, Tipmann, McGovern

Not ideal but Brown and Laken are shot.

O line is such a huge indictment on this regime

Since the minute he was hired, Joe Douglas has been trying to solidify this line. He has thrown draft picks and money at it constantly. Becton, AVT, Tippmann after signings of Fant, Moses, Duane Brown and plenty of others.

It’s still….not….good. Crazy. He was an OLineman in college.

It gave me pause when he took Becton over Wirfs.
