"We didn't get enough plays"  You know how you get more plays? by executing on offense.  Convert on 3rd down.  Make plays down the field on first or second down.  You did not get enough plays because your offense sucked, not the other way around.

True.  Though the defense sucked too.  And so did Hackett's coaching.  4 rushes for Breece.

That was all coachspeak for “we spent all summer prepping as though we had a Hall of Fame quarterback and we currently have no functionable quarterback and this is what offenses with no quarterback look like.”

You would hope he’s making these feelings clear to the GM.

Not one team in this league including the jets would have given this guy a thought if the rodgers obsession had not made management and coaches make a host of awful decisions.

At best Hackett would have had to go back to being a QB coach or college coach  for a few years before having a chance as an oc.

The alternative was Brian Johnson, who’s currently ruining the Eagles offense.

One thing I’ve noticed with Zach is that, when the offense isn’t on the field, Zach isn’t even talking to coaches or even looking at an ipad. He’s just sitting on the bench staring off into the distance. Seems like an odd way to develop him.

This team always seems to zig when it should have zagged.  I swear sometimes I feel like the fans care more than the front office does.  I like JD but zigging instead of zagging sure is getting old.

There is always a host of good oc candidates, it is only 'the alternative' if you assemble a shi**y list of candidates.

I disagree. At any one time, there are like two or three offensive coordinators that make any difference to team results. There’s only one guy who can make it work with a bad QB. Let’s say the Jets signed Derek Carr. Who’s the OC that would’ve taken this job and made Derek Carr work?

Just about anyone, carr is a good QB.

There are lots of good ocs potential wise.  Hackett is utter trash, johnson was overrated.  If we acted early enough we might have gotten monken, guys like joe Brady.

This guys performance in dal.is reminiscent of Adam gase . Terrible.game.plan on top of it being an easy one to make. Its not like winning was hard to figure out. The only way to beat Dal was to run and protect the passer with extra blockers. Literally that is the only way. And he came out with wanted to have Zach win with his arm

 Crazy

Look I'm not a fan of hack. But his ego is as big of a reason for losing as is Zach

When I am not in the game, sometimes I just stare off into your eyes.

Oh wait, this isn't a private message, is it?

His answers were very Gase-like.  Explaining how the game played out as if he, as the guy calling the plays, had no way to intervene and stop Zach Wilson from running plays that did not call for handing the ball to Breece Hall, using a TE to chip, Ruckert to run block or get more targets for Garrett Wilson and/or Hardman.

"We didn't run enough plays".

Dude, you ran 47 of them.  That's enough to get Breece Hall more than 4 carries or Hardman more than 1 target.

Dallas dropped 7 or more guys into the box on around ~46% of those plays, which leaves around 25-26 plays where you could reasonably try to run. They went down by 14 halfway through Q3, and ran a total of 19 plays down at least two TDs, which leaves you with around 6 or seven plays where Dallas 1. Wasn’t up two TDs and 2. Didn’t put 7 or 8 in the box. Guessing that of those remaining 7 or 8, at least 5 of them were 2nd- or 3rd-and long.

As Jets fans we need to accept that playing a non-viable QB is going to allow an opposing defense untold freedom to do whatever it wants to whoever the Jets offensive coordinator is. Hackett may well suck, but we won’t know that until Zach Wilson is benched. As with LaFleur, it’s a safe bet to say that the offense will look more coherent when you’re no longer fielding the 32nd ranked QB in football for the third year in a row.

Give Zaxh Wilson to any OC in this league and that OC is gonna suck.

And roughly 30 % of JN will blame that OC.

Paul Hackett, Mike Heimerdinger, Brian Schottenheimer, Tony Sparano, Marty Mornhinweg, Chan Gailey, John Morton, Jeremy Bates, Adam Gase/Dowell Loggains, Mike LaFleur and now Nathaniel Hackett….at every turn each of these guys was to blame and sabotaged an otherwise awesome offense.
