Your Confidence Level in The Jets (vs Pats, for the season)?

Recommended Posts

I’m at a 2 out of 10 they beat the Pats.

3 out of 10 they make the playoffs.

“Insanity:  doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”

Yes, we surprised some teams early last year who were missing their QB but our recent record is what it is.  Losers of 6 of our last 7 and for the moment doubling down on Zach, Tomlinson, McGovern, Uzomah, our ‘1985 Bears’ defensive that has our non Bears version of Deion Sanders playing zone 70% of the time (and in crucial situations when zone isn’t working).

Unless significant changes are  made to who we trot onto the field and how we utilize our top talent (which we finally have), then don’t we already know how this chapter is going to end?

What’s your confidence level?

5.5 out of 10 they beat the Pats. Mostly because for some reason, we find ways to F up against them every time. Regardless of how the season is going.  Then throw in the monsoon that's coming, could get ugly.

The weather is going to make it a slog fest.  Maybe someone on the jets can make one play that wins them the game like buffalo.

Logic tells me, this isnt a tricky match up.  The Pats, are not good.  You dont have to take chances in this one.  Get creative in the run game, run it on every down, run it all game, run it and run it some more. Direct Snaps, Jet sweeps, Reverses, Wildcat, designed runs for Zach, get everyone involved, beat them down in the run game, take care of the ball and  make them chase all game.  Then shut them down on defense, force that bush league pusswah to throw the ball, create a turnover, win the field position battle, beat them at their own game and win the war of attrition.

But the Jets often defy logic, so my confidence level is

Bored Paul Rudd GIF

The Pats are not good ? Sure they are nothing special on Offense but they gave up 251 total Yards to the Eagles who some consider to have one of the most explosive Offenses in the game.  The Dolphins were able to run the ball Okay and they had 244 yards passing and they have a pretty damn good QB and skill players from what we've seen the past few years.

The only way we win this game is if our Defense Shuts down the Pats which is a possibility and Zach plays at the very least competent football. Once again if the Pats get the lead and then start field goaling us to death no way Zach will get anything done because Cheater Bill is going to blitz the living hell out of him and Zach can't handle a blitz if you actually tell him the blitz is coming and where its coming from.

I have absolutely zero Faith in Zach in this game because he still plays at a rookie level and Belichick destroys rookies and Zach has done nothing against him since coming onto this league. 77 yards is not going to get it done.

Pats  --  4 of 10.

It's reasonably possible, Pats are meh, especially on O, we should be good on D and on the ground.  Will all hinge on Zach I think, the gameplan (run vs. pass) and any turnovers.

Season  --  2 of 10 for postseason berth.  0 of 10 for Super Bowl.

Season, as a meaningful competitive thing, almost assuredly ended when Rodgers went down.

Extremely low. Zach only plays good with shorts and a red jersey on. No way in hell he's going to do anything in severe weather. Remember the wind bowl at Gillette last year?

My prediction is this is likely his last game ever as a Jet starter because he's going to look that bad and despite what the team says to the media there is going to be a revolt because all other phases of the team are going to play lights out and there will be resentment.

I'm not sure how anyone can have any confidence at all going into this game with Wilson at QB.

He has done absolutely nothing vs this defense and Cheater Bills game planning so what makes anyone with a lick of sense think this will be any different ?

The Patriots offense is Gase-like.  Offensive line is out of sync.  No explosive plays.

But their defense looks like it will still be pretty good.

It's early, but Gonzalez is looking like a steal for them.

They won't turn the ball over 4 times, and they won't give up a punt return TD.

Zach Wilson will have to make some plays, and I have zero confidence in that transpiring.
