Glad you have come around and now admit he is just a bad qb. NFL just moves way too fast for him. Happens to lot of college qbs who end up sucking in NFL. Zach could just walk into their office and say “ do what is best for team take me out.” I still believe Zach thinks he is a very good qb. Remember he said he was going to make the new qbs life a living hell every day in practice. Basically saying I’m better than any qb they will bring in. Instead he has just made jet fans lives living hell for 2nd straight yr.

Sad that you think this is the bar for a really good QB performance in the NFL in 2023.

Sadder still:  Wilson has only cleared that bar 4x in his entire career to date.

Even sadder:  Tua had already accomplished it with 2:05 left in the 2nd quarter this past Sunday.

I am still of the mindset that there is no way they can run Zach back out there. I know there is nothing to prove otherwise. But they can't be that insane, can they?

Unfortunately it seems like they are. I don’t understand why there is no urgency to sign another QB. They have nothing to lose ZW gets hurt that leaves us Boyle and no doubt Joe Flacco. Book it.

ZW is a predictable disaster, but the lack of urgency in signing a qb probably comes down to a few possibilities.

1) There are few qbs available for the right price/compensation that can play in Hacketts system, where a signing would meaningfully change the course of the season.  I mean does it really matter if we go from 6 wins to 7 wins with Brissett given that it will probably take a few games for the new player to even get up to speed?  That sort of logic.

2) An expensive signing in draft/cap will put pressure on next season where suddenly Rogers, coming off an injury, is now competing with  Kirk Cousins (who also cost the team a 1st and a bucket ton of cap).  So they likely want to avoid that situation in the hope that they’ll get a return on investment from Rogers at some point.

3) A bad signing like eg Matt Ryan that loses a lot of games probably puts even more pressure on the front office.  I mean it might literally cost Salehs job if we don’t improve.

So I suspect that ZW is being used as the scapegoat for the season.

It makes sense that @Reasonable Jets Fan jets fan likes your post. He has been wrong on many fronts and is a cheerleader like Saleh.  If what you wrote is legit, that would be a longer strategy. this team, is POORLY run with no vision. isnt there a rule against tanking? shouldnt the commissioner step in? because starting Zach Wilson a 3rd year and not even getting a 3rd QB is blatant tanking.
