At least not in the pass blocking department. Run blocking I'll give you. Though running against loaded boxes all the time means the deck is stacked against them. Important distinction is that there's no hiding from the pocket time stat. A high time to throw can sometimes be explained by a QB who extends plays with his legs rather than a strong OL. High pocket time means the OL is doing its job (on average). I think the Zach experiment here should be over because he will never be coached and handled the way he should under Saleh. I think that he can be successful with better coaching. Zach seems to have a new OL every time he plays and always playing like a Top 10 defense. This year in yards he has played the 2, 4 and 5 defenses in the entire NFL. and 2.3 and 8 in terms of points. We rushed for 38 yards on 22 carries. We rushed on first down on11 of the first 13 series. Cobb Lazard Uzomah, Cook suck. It was yet another new OL combination. I am not convinced a different QB wins that game. Playcalling was abysmal and super predictable. I also think we should have some concern at RB. I think any QB would struggle with the approach they are taking. Other OC's would be very successful with Zach. Something insane, and he burned them good. Purdy said he likes the blitz, knowing it opens up the field. Meanwhile Zach is petrified of the blitz. Imagine having a QB, that has no strengths and trying to call a game. So you give him a great design to beat cover 2 and it hits. He has a perfect pocket, his first read is a simple crosser run by his best WR is wide open to his throwing side and he sits there and sits there and sits there and then throws it to said WR running the crosser when he's reached the sideline and covered by a defender who is ready to tee off on him and then going through your playbook and trying to find a better play for him. 1 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
