Lmfao. I love how the 5 remaining Zach Wilson fans just blindly ignore their eyeballs and every single statistic out there proving what we all know. ZW sucks and would be lucky to have a roster spot on an xfl team.

they have to be some kind of relatives to him - or himself with multiaccounts

FACT 1: The eye test on Zach shows he’s elite when he processes quickly. The stat to back up the eye test: QB rating #1 at 130 when he throws in 2.4 sec or less.

Yeah but, doesn't that just mean he's able to hit the first read when it's open? The problem is he can't hit the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th when the 1st read is locked up.

”If it doesn’t work, use him as tank QB, keep going, and hope he shows something along the way.”

Isn’t this the Zach equivalent of the Fitzmagic cycle, only difference being the Zach’s cycle is more like:

- Totally suck

- Have a good drive

- Light a spark of hope

- Totally suck

…and so on. Like in the Pats game.

On some of those that look good it’s 2nd and 3rd and it’s bizarre how different it looks.

In college the defenses were simple and he knew what he was facing and played with anticipation.

Sometimes you see it for a flash play here or there where he’s comfortable with what he’s seeing - but for the most part he looks tentative and slow.

I don’t know why he can’t decide to move on or stick with man coverage on receivers.   I don’t understand QB play so I don’t know what he’s looking for or why he’s not moving to his next option faster.  I would think erring on moving off too soon would he better most of the time.

edit.  In the NFL he’s been his best attacking - 2 minute drills when they are trying to score.

At that point the tank is on.   If he turns the corner great.   If not great.

Jets fans are one of the most passionate NFL fan bases in spite of horrible performance.

The lack of on the field success leads to arm chair GM-ing.

Ownership fears the armchair GMs so they make dumber decisions to placate them.

The vicious cycle continues.

There is 1 solution to the QB problem that makes long term sense but the fan base won’t allow it and RS + company lack the resolve to carry it out.

FACT 2: Zach isn’t seeing plays well enough to be a starter in the NFL right now.

The only valuable long term solution is play him out for a few games.   If it doesn’t work, use him as tank QB, keep going, and hope he shows something along the way.

The Jets leadership knows this.  But the Jets leadership and fan base lacks the Will power to see it through.

This years White and Flacco incoming soon.  I’m here for it but not super excited to see it play out.  The crappy QBs probably win a couple more games.

It has nothing to do with the fan base.   The Jets NEVER do what the fan base wants and certainly not here.

Billion dollar idea for Vin Diesel and associated investors: First Read Football League.

How it works: a football league where every skill player is fitted with an LED-illuminated helmet. Before the snap, the quarterback gets to designate one player as his First Read (sponsored by Manscaped), and upon clicking a button, the First Read’s helmet lights up and the defense IS DISALLOWED FROM COVERING THAT RECEIVER for the first 2.5 seconds of any play.

We get Zach, we get Jamarcus Russell, we get Carson Wentz, we get Josh Rosen, we get Paxton Lynch, we get Mike Bercovici, we get Cardale Jones, we get Joe Milton, we get Heath Shuler, we get Tebow, we get Hackenberg and we score 100 points every game on offense and everybody loves it and Vegas loves it.

Call me Vin Diesel.

90% of the time, a rookie QB who can’t read defenses ends up out of the NFL pretty quickly.

A good NFL scout can figure out which QBs have it, and which don’t.  Even the good ones fall for physical skills hoping they can teach the processing.

Zach can’t do this job.  The optimist in my would have him play more and figure it out, to increase his trade value next year.  But I think his value is not going up.  It is currently zero.

The best hope for Zach is a Geno Smith type recovery.  He can bounce around a bunch of teams, hopefully connect with some coaches that can connect with him, watch the game, build his body and maybe he figures it out.

Maybe the Jets want to keep him as a long term QB3 while he does that, but that is what he is now.  A developmental QB3.  At best he should have been a 4th round draft pick.  JD made the same mistake John Lynch made, but John Lynch was smart enough to use a pick JD would use on a throwaway safety to find another QB.

You are right.   That street QB is the next Tom Brady.

Push the dentures back in and call for this years Strevler early and often!

Woody wants to cash your checks.  You will get what you want soon.

I was poking fun at you calling the backups crappy, which they assuredly are, while in the same sentence suggesting they’ll win more games than the player you’re propping up with the original post.

If they’re crappy, how do we describe the former #2 overall pick they’ll  probably win more games than?

I don’t pay Woody. Stopped giving the franchise money a while ago.

And I actually do want them to start Wilson because I want everyone fired and a high draft pick to make the job more appealing.

I'm still haunted by my childhood decision to draft Ken O'Brien over Dan Marino. I'll never forget Jim Kensil calling a then 8 going on 9-year old me in 1983, asking who we should take at QB in the draft.

The clip of Roselle getting ready to announce the pick is priceless. He is trying to hold back the laughter because he knows the reaction the fans are going to give.

I think that was in the Felt forum at that time -

Zach’s inability to process quickly is a major factor in why he sucks. You’re drawing the wrong conclusion from the stat — the real conclusion is the only time he’s ever effective is when his first read is wide open. That’s the only time he throws the ball quickly.
