Elevate Izzy. Cut Dalvin Cook.

The perceived need to get Cook touches is a momentum and drive killer.  The guy is shot, get the kid in there.

He never should have been signed.  Many people knew it.  To make matters worse, we signed him as he was rehabbing.

How we guaranteed $5.8 Million is beyond me.

I'm shocked at how Cook has looked thus far. He looks so slow hitting the hole.

He shuffles a lot.

I understand why RBs are upset over their NFL value.  In the blink of an eye, you go from stud to dud at this position.  Unfortunately, D Cook is dud.  Cut him and bring in Izzy.

If only there were folks here saying Dalvin was a waste of money and we should add a much cheaper alternative instead.

If only.

@Pac

I am giving myself credit, fuk it.

He looked a lot better than this last season. Perhaps with Zach playing better, we'll get to see some vintage Cook in Denver.

Not a whole lot better.  He was decidedly below average last season.  And that's just as a runner.  As a pass blocker and receiver he was dreadful last season.  He's never been good in those areas so no surprise there.

And we all know RB's only get worse with age.  It was pretty easy to see the wall was coming.  Hence why the Vikings went out of their way to cut Cook when they didn't need to.  Hell, they just traded for Cam Akers so even they recognize Mattison kinda sucks and they needed another back, but they cut Cook anyways.

@Pac

We had one and his name was Bam Knight.  He was nothing special but was decent running back depth at almost no cost, and he was running better last year that Cook is running now.

Zach earned a LOT of extra rope last night.  Meanwhile, I'll be ripping on Dalvin every week that he is getting touches.

It was weird for me honestly. All that positive stuff people say about him and I go,"GFO,I don;t see it", albeit brief, I saw him do some of it last night.

Last night:

  • Breece/Carter:  9.3 YPC, 7.5 yards per touch
  • Dalvin Cook:  3.2 YPC, 3.0 yards per touch

On the season:

  • Breece/Carter:  6.5 YPC, 6.5 yards per touch
  • Dalvin Cook:  2.5 YPC, 3.1 yards per touch

Seems obvious.
