How many QBs in college and pros have ever gone against Mahomes and ended up with more completions, yards and TDs as well as fewer interceptions than Mahomes?

According to the NYJ NYP podcast today....none....ever.

and to get props and validation from the current GOAT at midfield. Not too shabby.

When will we learn?

Straight from the GOAT's mouth.

Pat Mahomes is no Jets fan.

My point was that the result appeared irrelevant to Zach actually and I wasn't buying the conciliatory vibe. I think he was smiling into his beard the whole time. He knew he didn't cost the team the game. He knew what he had just accomplished.

I get what you’re saying, and agree about how Zach really felt…  and he should. He was playing for his career last night, and he went out and balled as good as I’ve ever seen him.

As for Mahomes? Remember when the Texan’s ER told Darnold “you’re going to be a star?”

I do not remember that. I delete all of my torturous Jets memories via hypnosis.

Zach seems to have made an impression. Not bad for his confidence…

Zach’s post game vibe… pretty clear to me that despite the scoreboard and despite the mea culpa, he knew what he just did and couldn’t hide it, “I won”. Must have felt good. The L in the standings was a footnote.

Zach took the W. And is on to Denver.

That's a quarterback who is sick of seeing a fellow quarterback get bashed from every direction. I think Namath's statement as well as things like the Harrison line of questioning is starting to really piss off players around the league. They see it as a constant bashing of their fellow fraternity member, not a member of the opposition.

Getting a queasy flashback when Sam Darnold put up a great game in a loss to the Texans.  The winning team was very gracious complimenting him and saying how special he was as they walked out with the win.  Don’t think he ever played a game that good ever again.

True I remember that.  However Chiefs the defending champs with best player in the game so I think it’s a different.  However it won’t mean much unless ZW builds on this.  I don’t think it’s fair to ask him to be this good all the time.  I can live with mistakes as long as he has confidence and he can move the ball

I thought that was the Colts game...

"We're gonna get really ******* good at this".

No one wants to admit it but as boring as Bates' offense was he had the mechanicals, fundamentals, and Darnold's college fumbling problem under control.

He needed a real QB coach to keep that stuff honest and in turn got Dowell F'n Loggains.....

I think if this coaching staff can be consistent with Wilson and actually let him play to his strengths, he can produce this more consistently.

I hope his performance Sunday keeps the boo birds off of him for a little bit so he can focus on stringing some good performances together....

Of course, if he has another meltdown all bets are off....but let's see how he can build on top of this before we send anymore vitriol his way.....

Going out there and ballin out against all odds should have earned him some cred with the team as well......we're not that far removed from mike white t-shirts in the locker room So I can def picture some frustration with his play despite them supporting him publicly. This is prob how his teammates wanted to see him respond to adversity all along.....

He may never be consistent enough to be a starter in this league....but it won't be because lack of effort.....in the almost year since his snarky remarks after the pats game in 2022 I think he's responded well from a leadership standpoint.....his issue is the mental part of playing QB....we'll see if he can overcome those issues....

I mean what is Mahomes supposed to say with cameras and boom mics right there?

”Yo good game, but you suck, bro”? 😬

If ZW is so great, maybe Veach would be willing to give us Mahomes straight up.

They could save a ton of $ by unloading that contract 😀

Don’t give Andy Reid any ideas plz.

Zach can also get them on a lot of sick golf courses.

There’s a whole other thread explaining how insignificant it was or how it while Zach played ok, Mahomes was bad.
Once again explanations on why seemingly good Jet performances weren’t as good as fans think.

I mean, this isn’t fair. The guy’s had a lot of bad games and very few good games. Can you blame people for being skeptical and/or cynical? ZW can change the narrative with a string of similar performances. And they don’t have to be in a row. Just in general this season.

But yet, amazingly, we only see rare conversations filled with complimentary comments like these.

Guess it’s just a coincidence

If he go's out and BALLS in Denver then we may have a fun run coming up. We shall see.

It’s perfectly fair.  He had a great game.  It’s stupid as F to claim it wasn’t because he sucked last week whatever.  He played his ass off.  Period, not but…

I think most will settle for him completing 60% of his passes, not turning the ball over and sustaining drives long enough to give our defense a breather.

People can feel how they want. We’ve been forced to watch a lot of bad ZW football so most aren’t so easy to forgive and forget. Let’s see him keep doing it. I think that’s beyond fair. Folks could just completely write him off if you’d like, as the sample size of good performances is laughably low. I’m willing to give it a wait & see approach but I’m not fast-tracking my poorly sewn #2 jersey from China yet.
