THE BARON
For those that think fans of other teams hate the Jets. Not true. My job always has me chatting with people all over the country. I often talk sports with lots of them. Every single football fan I talk to has had a lot of genuine sympathy for the Jets losing Rodgers and the Jets in general. Everyone to a man/woman was pissed off by the PI call against Sauce in the KC game. A Bengals fan I chatted with was still pissed off about it. The league does not have it in for the Jets, but they are absolutely queer for KC. Mahomes is the league sweetheart and he can do no wrong. That flag came out AFTER the zebra saw the interception. It was done to save Mahomes and KC. Lots of fans of other teams were really pissed off about it. Another Bengals fan told me he is so sick of the breaks they give to KC he wants to see Mahomes get his head handed to him more than he cared about the Bengals winning. Anyway... The Jets are at least getting a lot of national empathy. No one hates us.

Green Ghost
The OP is right, we’re thought of as either lovable losers or an up and coming young team. Nobody hates us, or considers us an hated rival. I’ll take this a step further, and say live in an area where very few people “are from”. It’s almost all transplants from around the country. I’m always amazed how sports fans (other than the clueless homers) are so much better at evaluating teams other than their own. I guess it’s because they have no emotional attachment? Anyway, those around me think our defense is as good as any out there, and always preached patience with our young QBs, Darnold and Zach. Oddly, most never believed Rodgers was going to be a savior, in fact I was shocked how many fans around the league despise him or think he’s overrated. Saleh is thought of as an excellent HC and Douglas as a very good GM. The point is, these people look at the Jets completely differently than I do, which I find amusing. If they posted here I’d roll my eyes and dismiss their opinions as those of an uber opto.
Jet_Engine1
I live in Florida.. the consensus opinion once you cut through the "Jets suck! Ha ha!" nonsense from actual Dolphins and Bucs fans (Jaguars fans are mythical creatures that don't exist) is, "Your Defense is nasty good, and you have some really good players.. but.... I'll let you guys fill in the blank. 2
Hex
Not a coincidence that the Lions and Jets have both been lovable teams over the past X amount of years. Awww, how cute! The Jets won a game! 1 1

ChuckkieB
Being a Jets fan in the tri state area offers a few extra layers of misery like this. Do we really need some dope west of the Mississippi to feel sorry for us? Kinda makes me angry actually. 😆

There's no great reason to hate us, considering how terrible we always are but most people still hate us anyway.

I wondered what was going on with that play too DM, and then I saw a replay from the opposite angle. The reason he was flying like that was because he was trying to knock the ball out of Mahomes hand and pick it up and run it in. He had no intention of hitting him

Dupe
I don’t think the Jets are despised but there is lots of “good natured” hatred and or jealousy. There’s plenty of feeling that jet fans are numerous, loud and sometimes arrogant by nature. Lots of fans around relish seeing us in pain.
